Why is everyone fascinated with Master of Puppets? I'd be interested to know how many of you even know what it's about.
Not that I don't know, but I'd be interested to know how that would change my opinion on the song even if I didn't know the meaning... It's just a generally good/catchy song, regardless of the meaning behind it.
It most certainly helps to know the meaning behind it.
Of course it helps, to love the song more, if you can relate to it, but people enjoy listening to Justin Bieber, don't they? His songs have about as much meaning as a wet sock in the oven to me.
They're a good band, yes, but not the best. They have really repetitive solos in my opinion. My favorite album of theirs is st anger, which actually has no solos in it

*facepalm* You make it sound like Mustaine is the reason theyr albums were good, wich isn't true. Just so you know, he didn't actually write those songs, he just wrote a certain riff or solo or whatever. Plus, he has no credits on any song wrote after Ride the Lightning.
