Think about this. The number of members on AG is growing. There are about 500,000 people registered. Only a tiny part of them is active on the forums. But with the growing of inactive accounts will the number of the active users grow too. Yes, people are leaving AG too. But the growing of members is much faster. Now it is about 1000-2000 people active on the forums. In a few years maybe 1,000,000 users, 5000 of them active. And what if 100% of the users would be active? Total Chaos!!! What do you think?

Err I think you mean Ag version 3.0.

No, he's talking about regular incremental updates to the site itself.

I do not expect chaos here. We have a very capable group of moderators and alert users who I believe will be able to deal with things. I do not believe in the "AG is dying" bullcrap.

As for active people, there are probably only several dozen y'know?

I'm tired of all the people who believe AG will be overrun. Paranoia.

It is true that most of the 537,738 users are ghost accounts , Most of them went on here for a bit then forgot about AG or they were users from 2008 which left AG .

Rawr....oh...

It's way too obvious that AG can maintain all of the spamming and trolling users.

And about the "AG is dying" thing, I think it's bull---- as well. It's not even dying. The activity of the forums just slows down at some times. But then the activity will go up. People who think AG is dying aren't thinking correctly. I know it's their opinion about it. But it's still...just not correct.

Yes, there are only a few regulars around the forums. And some around the mid-level. And couple of the new people who join the forums. Without spamming. Trolling. And without making duplicate threads.

It's sort of sad seeing some newbies don't know anything except AP and just spam up all of the forums. Rules and guidelines are very useful, to all of the newbies.

I'm not saying they are stupid. They aren't just reading the rules and stuff.

AG will NEVER be overran by spammers, trolls and other stuff that is bad. Like I said, and most others have said, AG will be able to maintain current form. In rather, turning into a spamfest website. The spam and troll rate can increase. But there is no need to think that AG will be overran by the spammers.

Well, all of the regulars around this time, will have to quit at some time in the future as well. But AG will never be dead. A new batch of regulars will come, and will keep the forums alive. Well, ya know the forums will likely never be dead.

Or they didn't bother to log back in, don't do much with their accounts aside from playing games or they're referral abuse accounts.

Most members around here, prefer rating games and commenting on them rather than the forums. Well, most of them haven't even been to the community. Because they don't notice it.

The problem with making the community tab bigger will attract more people but more spam. Because there are a fair amount of people who spam up the game comments and rating them even though they are not playing them. But even one second. So, they would just spam up the forums will they notice the big community tab.

But the good thing is it will attract some of the 'respectable' newbies. Who actually read the rules and guidelines. And so they will NOT spam. There are a fair amount of people who are like that.

But the bad thing is still, it can, well the spam rate will likely increase if the 'spamming' newbies come in. But it's obvious, that AG can maintain from the spamming newbies.

I don't follow nor am against the 'make the community tab bigger' thing. I haven't chose yet.

I don't think we need to draw in more people by making the forums more visible right now.

As for the less experienced here, I'm sure we can guide them through.

I notice a lot of paranoia around here.

Of the very active yes. The number of people that post at least 3 posts a day at medium is more than a hundred at least.

There is an 'Illegal' download forum. One of the most active in the internet.

It ends in BB

So Uproar, what you just said was that if as we get more users we're just going to get more moderators?

In a nutshell, using that website i got the statistics from you either place more moderators and administrators to look over all areas as a group.

Or you would select 2-4 moderators PER forum to make sure everything runs smoothly and some moderators would be designated more then one forum to look after.

That is what i even had to do when i ran a forum, it keeps it organized and everyone knows there jurb

If activity got as big as that though

I agree with you... If we draw too much attention from the wrong people, we will have more spammers/flamers and other annoying problems. AG seems to be doing just fine, as it will in the future.

I agree with Uproar. If used properly, additional moderators are excellent at keeping order. Although, I'm not sure if anyone here who isn't a mod, is close to being one. As for the oft repeated lag issue, I'll be happy once that is dead.

@Knight: I'm sure there are plenty of people that are "capable" of modding. That and some are just pretending that they are in front of everyone. I've had the idea of having at least a couple mods on at every hour, but... the time schedules just...and AG is on the dead side after hours.

Well instead of...how many is it now, a handful of mods? We need two or three for 3.0
