I have finally found that there is some hope in this world for true music. Thank God. Avenged Sevenfolds new cd made #1 today on itunes, above all the rap crap, the justin crybeiber, and lady gaga. Metal is out on top like it should be. Im tired of hearing all this whiny bs that pop stars call music. So thank god at least people on itunes are starting to get it right
So you're saying that Avenged Sevenfold represents metal? I think it's just as bad as having Lady Gaga at #1. Metalcore is the bane of metal's existence, and distracts young people from what true metal really is. Listen to some Black Sabbath, anything with Dio in it (Coincidentally, he was in Black Sabbath as well), Judas Priest, old Scorpions, and everything Iron Maiden has done-and these are just to get started. There's so much better metal out there that younger generations aren't aware of, and I hope you find how amazing it all is.

yeah considering judas priest went half techno... Black Sabbath was really more so hard rock... As i personally classify them with motley crue. And the scorpions are basically a one hit wonder... And only iron maiden is the one band in that whole group who i can classify as true metal.. As they were the bringers of the whole new age of true music. AndYes i know my music you ignoramous...i think over half of the world thinks a7x is a great representative of metal... And you know what, even if they aren't your so called "metal" they have harder, faster, and way better solo's than alot of other metal bands out there. Not to mention actually decent vocals, along with amazing quitar.
avenged sevenfold is really carrying the torch right now for the ahrd rock metal scene in the world right now. there one of the biggest metal bands of all time especially in the 21'st century

Their very first album is really the only one that borders on hard rock. Everything after that is pure heavy metal and even a couple doom metal tracks. Their sound is not even close to Motley Crue's.

So you have the power to choose what is true music...please...Even though I'm a hater of most modern music, I believe there're more transcending music styles than metal, such as classic or jazz for example...Me? I'm a follower of progressive and alternative rock. Since I have not yet achieved full knowing of music's technicality though, I have yet to fathom how incredible classical and jazz truly are but I know that they outclass most comtemporary pop/rock bands and all the rest... In any case, Avenged sevenfold is downright annoying in my ear
Avenged Sevenfold is as bad as any other pop singer out there. Sure, they have some Metal riffs, but if you listen to to a whole song you can't help noticing the boys band chorus and the cheesyness behind their lyrics.
