Also, Merits are a good thing, surprised nobody came up with that. Merits are the only way to get AP that the mods/admins can give. They only give out for well thought out comments on games, or winning a contest. More info on that. That is another way in which you can get into the good books of AG.
Essentially, each one add roughly an inch to the length of your E-peen.
For example, if you go around and swear to people, be offensive to people etc, in real life, they won't like you, if you were to do it in AG, they won't like you. You really need to show who you are, what you can do etc.
Swearing to others, is an easy thing to get in trouble with. Don't troll or flame. Those are the easy to follow. Control yourself. Control your temper. And you'll be fine.

For this comments, you have to put a lot of thought into it in order to earn the merits. There aren't many mods around to check the comments these days so getting merits with game comments are rare now.
As for the poetry contests. You have to put thought into it too in order for the judge to pick you.
Oh and you should also report any inappropriate behaviour to the mods - not things like spamming on games, but if someone is spamming a lot, trolling a lot, advertising etc, report to a mod, which is what you would do in real life. If you see misbehaviour, report - could be hated by others, but your doing the right thing.
