Do you think that we will ever get rid of all of the nuclear bombs in the world? I personally would feel unsafe if the US got rid of all their bombs before other countries that have bad feelings towards the US.

It would never work. There will always be nukes. They are a pretty effective deterrent, after all. The only people who would logically use one are terrorists or independent factions. No government would use one against another country knowing the consequences. So yes, they're dangerous, but the solution isn't to get rid of them, it's to put more regulations and security on them.

I think the only way to get rid off them all with one shot, worldwide is.... A SOLAR STORM!!! I know, the nukes will not be destroyed, but the silos, the bombers, all electronics! It happened 1989 in canada. If it will happen again, worldwide, PEACE!

Not for long though....
Anyway, there is no hope for that to happen, maybe in the distant future, but not anytime soon.

I'd say that it would technically be possible to deactivate all the nukes in the world, but it would take possibly hundreds of years to complete the process...

It's actually only theoretically possible. Not every nuke in the world can be accounted for, and it's always possible to make new ones. Thanks to Russia losing a lot of them (And let's face it, the US has probably lost some too, we just don't admit it), there's too many nukes floating around to track them all down and deactivate them.

It would be impossible. Even if all countries get rid of them, there will always be one or two countries that secretly keep more. And those will get a green light to launch 'em.

Probably not, but if you mean to also get rid of nuclear tested or nuclear power.
If that's not what you also mean then it might take awhile, but if people could learn to get along then getting rid of alot of nukes may not be to hard. Getting rid of them all will probably never happen.
Most government's probably have them because if another world war happened what better way to end it than to nuke japan again? Just kidding, no offense meant.

As long as Russia has nukes, the rest of the world will have nukes. It's up to them right now.

While all of you are discussing if nukes will ever be rid of, I am that much closer to completing my super bunker. Suckers.

I dont see USA or UK plannin a disarming anytime soon, regardless of russia.

Sadly, the US is already researching the Hypersonic ICBM.

It can travel over Mach 20 and does not appear on Radar.

Uhh, no. Far from it. If it happens again, it will be worldwide war. WWIII is quite near.

As for the nukes, don't even wonder if they will. They won't. We'll just keep our Minuteman IIIs fully armed and ready to blast whatever country into oblivion, and they won't attack us. After all, unless it takes under a minute for all your nukes to arrive and detonate, our missiles will get you, and vice versa. Very effective deterrent.

ONE OF THE TOP FIVE ASKED QUESTIONS, QUESTIONING AMERICA'S GREATNESS: If America is the great, free, and clean, then how come we're the only one whose used a nuke in the history of the world?

When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace. - Jimi Hendrix

I believe that is the truth, but It will never happen. The world will be peaceful when the world is gone.

Now apart from seriousness....ballsack!
