Do you think that we will ever get rid of all of the nuclear bombs in the world? I personally would feel unsafe if the US got rid of all their bombs before other countries that have bad feelings towards the US.

Brittish H-Bomb test

Chinese H-Bomb test

Russian test - a must see, this is massive

What you are seeing is the nuke blasting into our atmosphere. At the very least we need to stop testing these. Humans are truly a stupid collective.

Over 41 years, the federal government detonated 921 nuclear warheads underground at the Nevada Test Site.
A massive part of Nevada will be a permanent environmental sacrifice zone.

Nuclear weapons were last tested in 1998, it seems that they stopped testing them.

I seriously doubt they have stopped.

There have been no official tests lately.
North Korea appears though to have conducted two nuclear tests, the first in 2006 and the second in 2009.

Since the end of the Cold War, France is the only nuclear weapon State having dismantled all its test site facilities and given independent international experts access to its nuclear test sites.

Dont know if this is still true.

North Korea just went down another notch in my book.

If we get rid of nukes were toast, it wont happen because countries with them know they will look vulnerable w/o them.

But even if we do reach a point where nuclear weapons are no longer a threat, the threat of traditional ordinance still looms.

Pretty much. Even if we all agree to an armistice of not using nukes period, no country worth their salt is going to risk destroying ALL of it, lest we make ourselves more venerable than a muzzled puppy with no legs. We would still have our army, navy, and air force, but what's to stop a nuke besides M.A.D.?
