5 Watchman join you, for the price of 94 denars.
You head on to the forest. You vaguely see some track, but noone in your army is an able tracker. You search for hours and hours, and finally stumble upon a cave in the forest. In front of it are boxes, and some bandit guards. Attacking now will mean they have no quick getaway, but you don't know their numbers either.
How do you wish to preceed? (Remember, this is based on realism!)

You get extremely close, and charge succesfully upon the few guards. You have no casualties, but lost your element of stealth, and alarmed all the bandits in the cave.

hmm a noble willing to fight in my army from another casle means a allience between them
(If they are not at the town walls) I hire them hastily, and place them onto the walls of the town, scouting out the rebellion from their distance. I then have my soldiers make a sort of makeshift barricade to prepare for their siege. If I have any pikemen I have them stand guard at the entrances of the town also.
(if already at the town)
I hire the prisoners still, and have half of them occupy the peasant's cottages, using the rooftops as great defense for inside attacks. The other half of the archers occupy the wall, making sure the rebellion don't lay a hand on my throne. the other warriors prepare defensive blockades from inside the town at the entrances, giving more time to plan further.
