I started looking into this after reading one of the comments in the "Is Atheism a Religion?" thread. The paranormal is what is not yet explained or considered normal, which leaves room for it to become normal or gain an explanation, so I figure it wouldn't be hypocritical for an atheist to believe in. I play with the idea of the paranormal sometimes, but I wouldn't say that I believe in anything like that other than UFOs and ghosts/spirits.

What about any other people out there? You don't have to be an atheist to answer, though this is aimed more towards them than others. I'm sure religion would cause conflicts with the paranormal as well.

Though a Christian, I am leaning towards agnosticism. I don't think I'm quite there though, as I am a definite believer in one God. Also, I am a firm believer in aliens. I also believe that many things in the Bible and Christianity in general, along with most other religions, can be attributed to aliens. However, I still believe in A God.

I'm surprised to see that from you, though you do realize agnosticism isn't a position of belief?

Also, I am a firm believer in aliens.

Based on the evidence at hand I would be very surprised to find that there is no other forms of life in this universe beyond this small rock.
Though I question the visitation of aliens to this world. Many reports can only be placed in the untestable category of personal experience. Many of the stories clearly use pseudoscience. When evidence is presented it is often highly questionable or easily debunked.

I also believe that many things in the Bible and Christianity in general, along with most other religions, can be attributed to aliens.

Could it not just as easily be attributed to the imaginations of humans?

I do realize that. And about the imagination thing:Of course there is a lot of imagination involved, but there's always a tiny bit of truth in all the nonsense. Take stories about dragons, for instance. If you were living in ancient times and you saw a spaceship emitting fire and smoke and being extremely loud, what else would you call it but a dragon?

All your doing here is substituting imaginary thing for another.
I can even use this logic to swap out the alien spaceship. For instance you look up in the sky and see Santa flying around in his sleigh preforming aerial moves that no known craft can pull off, what else would they think it was but an alien spaceship?

The difference in figuring out what parts are imagination and what parts are real is in the evidence.

Evidence? Paintings, drawings/sketchings, stories with much detail, figurines, and a full set of measurements, all concerning spaceships. Plus a helluva a lot more. I'd blast you all with links and quotes, but I'm using a Wii right now, so...sorry.

Paintings, drawings, etc (all that you listed) are not substantial items for evidence. They are depictions from the artist's mind. We may or may not have already been visited by some alien life forms, but there aren't hard facts that can lead to that truth.

Sure, the Egyptians made massive pyramids and have odd looking glyphs on the wall, and I'd be inclined to believe aliens lent a hand...but there is no REAL proof of that.

I weigh the chances of advanced alien lifeforms visiting us at about the same as the whole 'ancient super-advanced civilizations on Earth' idea.

I think it's silly to believe aliens helped to boost mankind in terms of technology etc. I mean it's not like we made everything happen like *poof* and here it is. Everything took it's time and the fact that we don't understand everything in history up to now doesn't mean that 'aliens did it'.

I agree. There really is no reason to believe aliens helped us.

And HahiHa, that is an opinion based on you not seeing the cases made for it. Which is a pretty blind opinion.

I really don't have a solid stance on this. I've seen a lot of convincing evidence that would indict some strange things involving aliens.

I'm just saying, you're dismissing something you don't have knowledge about. Sounds familiar, really.

I know I don't know. I also know noone knows. I'm just saying that saying 'aliens did it' is not a rational conclusion, there is no evidence, only speculation.
