Why do governments feel the need to make drugs illegal? If anything, it causes a lot more problems than there were before. If they were legalized, there would not be nearly as many violent actions over getting them since the prices would not be nearly as high. There would not been as many people over doing it with drugs, since it would eventually just become a normal thing in day-to-day life.
When I was in school we would take tests from every district and every test held the same result. It was easier for kids to get illegal drugs than cigerettes and alcohol.
This was very true for me seeing as I had many a people I could call for what I needed and get it in about 5 minutes...
Alcohol on the other hand I had to find someone that was 21 and willing to do it just so I could get drunk.
And they often wouldn't do it unless they got something out of it like beer or money etc.
I actually disagree with the whole "tax marijuana to hell" argument. There's no moral reason to tax something such as marijuana so high. At least you can argue that cigarettes cause cancer, which justifies a ridiculous tax. Marijuana isn't necessarily bad for you, and you shouldn't tax something simply because people enjoy it or simply because it's a recreational drug. Taxing something because it's a recreational drug doesn't solve the whole morality issue.
That is true, but people still buy cigarettes despite the ridiculous taxes. That makes them poor and unhealthy.
Oh but think about it. If there is a tax, people will use less. They will treat it like driving.

How on earth do you expect this to pass ever otherwise? If the government gets to regulate drugs, they want all the cash they've been missing out on for the last 3000 years.
Also, it's fair to tax it in order to regulate the amount bought at one point.
If you legalize drugs, you'll make it harder for people to get to them -- most 'weed sellers', if kids, have an adult source. Most adult sources use illegal adult sources. ----> If legal, adults are out of the picture. I mean sure some kids would have a hookup, but overall I feel that if Drugs were legalized then parents would have better control over the way their kids are. There wouldn't be any pressure to use drugs, and I'm sure that not all of America would fall into a sensation of eternal drug use.
and havent you noticed alot of famous people are useing drugs
This is because they have nothing else to do with their lives. It's like football players and legal issues - they're so rich and their lives are set why on earth would it happen? Because all they do is play football and go to parties. Eventually they wanna try something else
Lol, probably a few, but it's not like it's going to turn into some sort of scandal.
A rather anti-conformist italian tv show has proven that 1 major politician out of 3 does drugs in my country. They ran their test by simply showing up in the parliament without warning anyone beforehand and collecting samples. Clearly no one refused because it would have ruined their image, but the fact was buried under the sand just after and that show wasn't allowed to publish anything more about it.
That happened about 4 years ago if I remember correctly. Everything was suppressed rather quickly so in the end there wasn't any kind of major scandal.
Marijuana does not cause people to use hard drugs. Marijuana is the most popular illegal drug in the United States today. Therefore, people who have used less popular drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and LSD, are likely to have also used marijuana. Most marijuana users never use any other illegal drug and the vast majority of those who do try another drug never become addicted or go on to have associated problems. Indeed, for the large majority of people, marijuana is a terminus rather than a so-called gateway drug.[2]
You could also say that alcohol is a gateway drug because most people who do drugs drink alcohol. But most drinkers don't do drugs. It's the same with Marijuana.
I believe that the government is taking steps to prevent massive addictions to the substances by forbidding them in the first place. Whether or not you claim to be able to resist the addiction, it will become a regular thing for you. Be it once a month or once a day you will indulge that growing addiction until one day you decide to skip it and withdrawal occurs.

As far as I know Marijuana is less addictive than alcohol and nicotine.
I think that under the 9th Amendment, drugs should be legalized, yet have limits set on use, amount, and heavily tax them. They should also make it illegal to own drugs if you are under 30, because this is an even bigger decision than drinking.
