~~~King Lemon's Guide To:~~~ ~~Making the Perfect Kraft Macaroni and Cheese~~
Materials: A Medium-Large saucepan (i use a 4QT, if it's too small it will be hard to stir and is just not recommended)
1 Stirrer
1 Box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (MUST BE KRAFT MAC&CHEESE)
6 Cups of Water
Approx. 1/3 Cup Milk
Approx. 1 spoon full of butter (estimate with this one it does not have to be perfect, i usually just take a spoon and scoop out some butter, don't go crazy with this though!)
Now on to the Cooking:*
1)Turn the stove one to high 2)place the saucepan on the stove 3)next add the 6Cups of water. 4)Let the water heat up for about 3 Minutes. 5)Add the Kraft Macaroni 6)Let the Macaroni boil for about 6-7Minutes ---(When you go to check on the Macaroni there should be a sort of foam or haze in the water) 7)There may be clumps of macaroni, stir it in a back and forth motion then side to side (repeat until clumps are gone) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SMASH THE CLUMPS APART, YOU WILL SMASH THE NOODLES! 8)After stirring wait another 0:30-1:00minute to let the noodles boil a bit more (take a noodle out with the stirrer and feel it make sure it is soft but firm, 9)Drain the water into a sink 10)Pour the noodles back into the saucepan and add the Milk, Butter, and Kraft Cheese 11)Stir all the ingredients together using a the spoon (not the stirrer) 12)Let cool then eat! (well i mean you can eat it right away but it will be hot!)
---Total Approx. Time: 11-15Minutes
Now on to the Cooking:* - This is how i cook it, feel free to change any part of it to your liking.
I will be glad to hear how you make "The Perfect Mac&Cheese" just post how you would do it!
Don't come here JUST hoping to make mac and cheese or a bowl of cereal...I just wanted this to be a general thread for ways you do a certain thing. its for "guides" that don't necessarily have any other better topic than the Tavern.
~~~King Lemon's Guide to:~~~ ~~~~~Starting a fire~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS HOW I START A FIRE, THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT WAYS OF STARTING A FIRE. DANGER: FIRE CAN DANGEROUS IF NOT TENDED TO, AND OBVIOUSLY THE FIRE IS HOT, I DO NOT RECOMMEND TOUCHING THE FIRE, THROWING ANY COMPRESSED/COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS INTO THE FIRE. HAVING AN ADULT AROUND AT ALL TIMES IS RECOMMENDED THOUGH.
Materials: Bark/Sticks Wood (Could be pieces of an old fence, or just some log that you found in the woods or firewood that you bought) A newspaper(or any kind of paper would do) A lighter/Or match(es) A fire ring/pit/place
Making the fire: 1)Place the bark or sticks into the fire ring/pit/place. ---Make sure there is enough where you think it would be good to begin the fire. 2)Next take the paper, roll sheets it up. Do not wad it. Do not take the entire newspaper and just throw it in there. ---Make sure to have the paper underneith or inbetween the materials in step 1, but still able to be seen, don't have the paper buried in it. 3)Place the wood logs in a "Lincoln Log" fashion around the materials in steps 1 and 2. ---Make sure not to pile the wood on top of each other blocking out air, smothering the fire, and basically creating a whole bunch of smoke but no fire. 4)Light different ends of the paper and hope that they do not go out, or burn and not catch the sticks on fire. 5)If the sticks to do not catch fire and the paper is all burned out repeat steps 2 and 4 until the kindling (the sticks) has caught fire. 6)Now that your fire is created, enjoy the warmth it will put out, adding new logs or wood as you see fit, this is usually about when most of the logs have burned away. 7)When finished enjoying the fire, make sure to put it out with water. Or as I sometimes do when we stay up until it is only embers left in the fire ring/pit/place, leave it, but only if there are ONLY embers left, no fire.
Hope you enjoyed my guide to making a fire!
(Please don't be sarcastic with that guide either, it is somewhat for fun, but sarcastic comments are really not wanted. Everyone of course knows how to make a fire, or generally knows, this is just MY way.)
psh course i can be an a$$ when people make useless threads with how to make storebrand cr@p unless he can tell me to make some dinner from scratch then no...
btw when i try and cook my poptarts i put them in but they actually get colder...
Oh shut the hell up you pretentious little snot. If he wants to make a thread on how he makes Mac & Cheese using Kraft foods he has every right to do so.
@King Lemon
For fire making, make sure the logs/stick you use aren't green, as those will give of a lot of smoke if they catch fire at all. It's also better to use smaller sticks instead of newspaper, since depending on the type of paper you're going to get different kinds of fire.
Ah yes of course, i had also meant to add make sure the wood is dry...As for the smaller sticks, they wont catch and burn as fast as paper, but those are what i am referring to as "sticks"...I suppose i just add 1 extra material than you :P
Also that last guide was, admittingly, random. Though it really is what I do, I was sort of trying to make a point with it... If I ever think of something that I do, or a great lot of people do, I will definitely make a guide ;P...but please feel free to make your one based on what you do, cooking, constructing, or anything which people might do differently than you. I'll try and post one each day, but i that is no gaurentee haha ;D.
P.S.!! I typed this on my DSi just thought i would letchoo know
1. Start a thread 2. In that thread provide instructions for things that everyone knows how to do already. 3. Get mad when people point out that the thread is pointless because everyone already knows this crap. 4. Continue posting crap people already know anyway.
stevens guide to finding out who thinks that they are are better than everyone else and flippin arseholes:
1. Find a good natured thread on argames.com 2. Look for the people that continuously cut down the thread starter 3. this is the most important step, IGNORE them. they have nothing better to do, plus they are probably just jealous that they didn't think of it first.
2. Look for the people that continuously cut down the thread starter
Eh... i'm looking and looking. Only see one person. Hmmm..
The point is, if we are going to continue on about a 'how to...' guide, let's toss in some things we aren't already all familiar with. That would keep the thread interesting, engaging, and discourage trolls
e.g. 1. How to make home-made napalm 2. How to turn a regular lighter into fireworks 3. How to fix your mom's favorite lamp you broke while playing football in the living room.
See, useful and not common knowledge. Just saying, if you want your thread to be popular make it interesting and original.
@MRWalker I understand what you are getting at, i had not originally intended on doing what i said, i did want this to be a good thread. Then the hate came in and got me thinking spammers would come in and start creating very ridiculous posts, im powerless to stop them i know. But i felt that if i set up guidelines then the stupid hate would stop... But yeah i really fully intended to have this be fun, (why i started with Mac&Cheese, haha).
meh, you get haters no matter what you do. Just pick interesting things that most people don't know and that will make it more enjoyable, and hopefully get people to post other interesting and lesser known things. I would go with a few of my favs but i'm not sure about the legality of teaching minors how to make explosives
Hey, nice try, but maybe next time scroll down a bit and read before posting topics ive already addressed...bc im pretty sure i posted the exact directions on the box in a later comment on the first page
