If I have to be drug tested to get a new job. If I have to be drug tested to Keep my job. If I have toe be drug tested if I get hurt one the job. Then why don't people on disability or welfare or any other kind of state funding/supplementation get drug tested?
Any thoughts?

I would say to that whoever employs you it is there right to make you take a drug test if they want and if you don't like it then you don't have to work for them it's as simple as that. The reason that people on welfare don't have to be tested for dugs is because your employers probably don't want druggies working for them while a person on welfare taking drugs will not effect his ability to do a job since he has none.

So then, is it ok for people who get a tax fed check that are on welfare, disability or any other kind of state funding/supplementation to be on drugs? Since these people don't have jobs then its ok they are doing drugs?

Well I am not saying it's okay I am saying that there is no reason to unless you wanted to know if they are breaking the law.Your employer will want to know because he doesn't want a drugy working for him but if you don't work then there is no reason to have a drug test Unless the government makes it a law that you cannot break the law and be on welfare then the government would make you take drug tests.

So my next question would be. Do you think it would be fair for the government to make a law where said people had to be drug tested?

You should be ashamed, trying to get all those poor people to get tested for drugs. After all, it's our duty to supply them with a lifetime of useless BS!

Hmm well that's touchy.I really don't know.I guess it would be good to know who are the people who are taking drugs but I am just not sure about that.

If you getting drug tested then there must be some reason behind it. Why should they be drug tested when they dont even have a job? The money the government give to wealfair isnt that much, everyone deserves a go in life.

actually I don't think that your employer should have the right to make drug tests...

Just assuming we are talking about drugs like pot, speed, crack, and, gods forbid, meth, instead of medical drugs, right?

So my next question would be. Do you think it would be fair for the government to make a law where said people had to be drug tested?

Yes. Yes it is! If the reason WHY they are under this situation is because of drugs, then they should instead be under a treatment program or therapy, not be counting their hours while still using drugs!

actually I don't think that your employer should have the right to make drug tests...

Why not? Some employers implement drug tests, because it can be even more harmful to others instead of the user. Operating mechanical tools while using drugs can have a profound effect on not just you but others and the tools themselves. Such drugs impair your coordination, judgment, and mentality. I hope I need not say more.

OK if you work in a drug store it should be sure that you don't take drugs. Or as a doctor... But a normal bureau job? I think a drug test is a huge intrusion in somebody's privacy.

Why should it be? It's random and infrequent. It's to ensure the safety of the job and its employees. An employer or police officer is not intruding on your privacy if they want to make sure you are not taking drugs while on the job. It can essentially be a hazard.

It also shouldn't matter what the job is. "it's fine if you're a doctor or a pharmacist, but not if its a normal bureau job". That doesn't cut it. Any job where you communicate and handle tools is at a risk if you are either drunk or using drugs.
