I mostly agree with armed_blade, I really doubt the world would be at peace with out religon. You can put two atheist in an in closed space and they will fight over something. People are natraully greedy, paranoid and violent. If you take away religon they'll find some other reason to be just as greedy, paranoid and violent.
Great to tell us what you think, now could you please tell us why you would think this? At least without religion, you have to justify things with logic rather than saying "God wants you to"

Well they slaughtered the inhabitants, from what I remember, so no it wouldn't. And even if that was the goal, it would be much more profitable to get a closer easier to control and larger city in another country.

Simple, simple math. 1+1=2, 1+0=1. You take away a cause, you get less. Religion doesn't provide anything that isn't found anywhere else anyways, aside from the selective things it says are evil for no particular reason.

But anyway, the TBG will eat you when you are wrong, a fate worse then any hell. So don't believe in god and you will lose nothing, believe and you could lose everything.

I don't believe in the TBG. That would get me eaten! I am just using him as a fictional character to make a point, no more than if I was using Santa Clause or Harry Potter. I am simply inventing a way that completely negates PW, which can easily be negated without the TBG. Its just a lot easier to state "What about the TBG?" than to explain that PW is a horrible bet that assumes etc etc. I don't believe in the TBG, Santa Clause, or Harry potter of course.
In the case I am overusing TBG, how about this analogy. Why don't you believe in Santa Clause? Do you really want to give up a chance for magical presents every Christmas?

You do realize that people throughout time thought that your god was literally in the "heavens", as in the sky? Just look at the tower of Babble myth, a big tower almost made it to heaven. So if heaven can't be reached, why did your god punish them?
