make sure to have fire type skills fully leveled, have a lot of coffee, and ice resistant clothing. i also think that poision really does him a world of hurt.

What difficulty? But as johnmchall said, poison is amazing for him. If you can also get Judgement for Nat then that gives 5 turns auto life for limit break, handy if you keep getting knocked down by a powerful attack.
Like the previous 2 posters, I'm stuck on getting the door open in the Kitten Castle. I've killed everything 2 or 3 times, leveled up, gotten all available treasure chests, and sort of figured the "code" for getting the doors open, but I'm stuck on how to get to the boss...
For people stuck on the gate, have you seen the reds orbs? Press space next to them and 'ick' them up. You then put them on the 4 platforms outside the gate.
