In modern America, the Bill of Rights along with ( i think) the other 13-15 amendments i believe are too vague, especially the Bill of Rights. The wording seems too outdated, and the translated meanings generalized...

should the Bill of Rights be rewritten to set much more clear standards??

and another, using the Amendments to protect against felony. So does the Constitution/Bill of Rights overrule everything that is the US justice system???

i never said rewrite the constitution itself, i said rewrite the amendments, especially the first 10, to make the wording and the just much more clearer. I highly doubt most people know exactly how people spoke 200+ years ago.

Like I said if you don't like them then amend it with clearer words.

Guns are kindof like illegal substances, people will get them anyway and it's surprisingly easy to do so.

So, if guns are so easy to obtain by criminals, then how do we, non-criminals, protect ourselves?

Right now we can use guns but if they won't allow the use of guns then we will have nothing to defend ourselves.

Is there an echo in here?

I don't catch your meaning.

I don't want to completely do away with guns - I just want tighter control on who can own one and where they can keep/use it. If someone really wanted you dead then it doesn't matter how quickly you can draw your gun - they'd have shot you first.

Having tighter control on them won't help since people will get them illegally. It might not have as much effect if someone is trying to kill you but it will also help with other things like robberies.

Buy a gun from the black market, congrats no background checks, permits, registrations, or licences. In the end the gangster will always escape laws and it just makes it a little tougher for a law-abiding citizen.

Look at the numbers of school shootings, bank robberies and other gun related crime the USA has in relation to the rest of the world. You have to admit that there needs to be greater controls on guns. Stem the flow and guns become harder to get for anybody - including criminals.

If we had tighter gun control laws, then the guy I saw today would be in bad condition in the hospital. This other guy was beating the hell out of him and I walked over there with my gun at my side and gave him the verbal warning.

Now, how else would I have stopped that fight as a small female?

Take self-defence classes? Beef up a bit? Stop pulling guns on people?

Lets look at the perks of controlling guns.

It will be harder for criminals to get them.

Now let's see the cons of gun control.

No way to defend ourselves.

Criminals will still get the guns it will just be a little bit more hassle for them.

People will still kill people it just won't be with guns.

All of those are quite illogical.
