Here's a new idea of what would happen after we die topic that you people can discuss. When we die we see a bright light then we are with God in heaven and he tells us that we are going to become angels because we were good people and were accepted into heaven and not to hell. So we are very excited and we are assigned a person that was just born and we are it's guardian angels until it gets old and eventually dies. So then we are assigned to be a peacekeeper angel (warrior) to defend against the devil and his minions. Until we have done all our jobs in heaven we are able to be born on earth again so it is a whole new life.
The only thing that I am worried about is that this goes on for eternity and wouldn't it get boring on heaven because it takes a long time to do all of the jobs.
That seems pretty nice. i guess it wouldn't be boring though because there will always be new things to do. And when you're reborn you won't remember anything.
Well, i just thought it was like a mix of buddhism. If we remembered or lives it's just like having a do-over and i thought some people might take advantage of that.
44Flames.. this "new" idea requires someone to have faith in that religion. It may sound nice but is actually more of a wishful thinking. Even in christianism that wouldn't work because angels and humans aren't the same thing at all; it actually has interesting tendencies to nordic mythology, because if you become a warrior angel, I guess your final purpose will be to fight the demons during the apocalypse. The vikings believed the men who died in glorious battle would go to Valhalla and become einherjar, warriors that will fight during Ragnaroek against the hordes of giants.
Actually, this is all speculation, since we just don't know. We might believe this and that will happen, but there's no way of knowing. So nobody knows where do we go after we die, so this topic is a question without a correct answer. That is, we don't know the answer.
It's a speculation based on speculation if we are to claim that we go anywhere. This is because we first have to assume that a soul exists in the first place, which is also something that is unconfirmed. Saying that we just shut down and rot is at least based on observation.
For Christianity, you would go to heaven if you're good and hell if you're bad. I think though you become the soul of a different body yet you don't know what happened in your life before.
We can, but it's not confirmed, it's pure guesswork. But, yea, I guess we can listen to everybody's opinion, 'cause everybody's entitled to.
You might notice repeatedly it's been asked how someone came to the conclusions they are at. You also notice in most cases where a person is claiming an afterlife of some sort usually ignores this question or simply takes it on faith, believing it just because it makes them feel good.
Is it really ok to tell people something themselves don't know, and make them believe ( for instance, heaven and hell)? That's not really ok by my standards, but making one viewpoint for a better afterlife just into consideration, nothing else, is, I think, fine by me.
That's one of the problems with religion. It tries to claim knowledge when it has non by filling in those gaps with pure fantasy. We don't have any evidence of an afterlife, so making any such claims to one is asserting to know something that we don't know. We can however study the body before and after death and what happens. We have found that every attribute of a soul can be explained by brain function. We know that those functions cease after someone dies. So it would be reasonable to conclude that's all that happens, unless we get actual objective evidence indicating otherwise.
well, through many advances in science we have seen things that are inside the human body such as the heart, brain, etc. But the greatest scientific achievement was when a Russian scientist created a camera called the GDV camera. This camera is said to capture on film the aura or spirit of living things. These spirits that were captured on film were found in plants and animals, not in rocks or the earth itself. So whether that is the human spirit captured on film I don't know, but what I do know is that we are more than just a giant heap of cells. Personally I believe that there is a heaven and a hell and it is your personal choice in this life where you take yourself in the afterlife. Jesus said that anyone who believes on his name will be saved, is that you? Anyway, look into the GDV camera and the bible, compare it to modern science and see how it is proven through it. I hope this helps.

Inanimate objects such as coins also produce these auras. So unless such objects also have souls that's not what it could be.

We can still be a heap of cells. There are a variety of things that living cells give off that could attribute to such effects such as electromagnetic fields.
i think that it really depends on if you think you go somewhere if you die. i mean, if you believe you will go to heaven you just might.
So if I believe that by flapping my arms I can fly I might just be able to, or would my belief not equate to reality?
