ForumsWEPR[Necro]Is Satan a "master" of people of faith?

For example, God is a master of all people who basically do good things (basically). Satan is the master of people who do bad things (not exactly Staan worshipers). What do you think? Is Staan a master? Does he have a huge hold on us, as well as God?

Please listen: I absolutely do NOT want this turning into a "your stupid because you believe in this or that" contest, as long as what people believe in does not hurt someone else. People of any faith, or none at all are welcome!

Interesting sight Samy, however it can really only show the beliefs of the person speaking it. Besides that, he doesn't know to much about Greek mythology, Hades and Zues were not enemies....

But that answer fits the answers I have found, so it may even be safe to call this the majorities belief.

I think it was only referring to the God's of the over world and underworld.

I feel like the majority belief has to be out there somewhere, from what I do know about the Jewish belief this seems like a good answer.

Really? In the OT, Lucifer is a protagonist, the deity's chum. The only thing "bad" he did in it he had god's blessing and assistance. The only other thing would be the snake that the Christian's blame on Lui, however the only thing that even subtly hints that is in the end of the NT.

Oh look the same history lesson YAY!

Righteo. When looking at the bible we have to realize the Old and New Testaments were written centuries apart. The Old Testament being the book that the Hebrews follow and the New Testament being the courrupt teachings of Christianity (Please not all religion is corrupt). However, in the OT Satan was merely a neutral character and sometimes protagonist. However, in the NT we see Satan as an antagonist. This change comes because of the cultural and religious pressure on the early Christians. Outside influences had a good and evil side to their doctrines, so, in order to survive the Christians developed a similar teaching. In the process creating a villian of paganism and Hebrew teachings. Surprisingly enough it was such adaptations which allowed the faith to flourish and spread world wide.

I love how people attribute bad things to Satan and yet it was their own God that stated that he (God) was responsible for disasters and evil.

Really? He even stated this himself? Can you show me where? So next time someone doesn't believe me when I say God created evil I can show it to him/her.

Concerning satan: who says he's really the bad guy everyone thinks of? Isn't all he wants simply rule over earth instead of god? Maybe christians are just telling everyone he's bad to support god; spreading lies to counter their rival? Maybe Satan is a quite nice fellow and hell is actually a quite nice place?

Here you go HahiHa: The missing link.

Also, Satan only killed 12 people in the Bible and I think most of those were with Gods blessing. God committed mass genocide almost once a week (exaggerated slightly).

It was 8-10 people and they were all with God's seal of approval.

If god didn't do those himself. Its hard to tell, raining fire raiders and wind are things god likes to kill with often...

Damn phone.

Anyway, biblical Satan was the causation for death so anyone who has died, without a direct intervention from god, can be attributed to Satan.

I can only assume your referring to the whole thing with Adam and Eve eating the fruit of knowledge resulting in, "the day you eat the fruit you will surely die" however they did not die that day. Other then a vague reference in Revelations the snake was never said to be Satan. Further more there was also a tree of life in the garden, God worried that Adam and Eve would eat from this tree as well and live forever putting them on par with him was the actual reason he kicked them out of the garden. But even if the tree of life wasn't the case of the boot, the snake was Satan and could take the blame for getting Adam and Eve to eat the fruit. It was God who set it all up to begin with to go that way.

So it would seem to me every death can in some way be attributed to God.
