So, should gays be allowed to get married? Is it morally wrong to deny them the right or is it morally wrong to go against the institution of marriage? I can see religion being dragged into this one....
Because of Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13. Other than some ancient book of questionable origin? No substantial reason at all.
Do you follow all parts of what Leviticus bans, or just the homosexual bit? If you follow every and all of it, good for you. If you don't, then why not? As so many priests and people say, the Bible is an "all or nothing" thing.
Furthermore, I strongly believe that one must take these for the times they were written in. Obviously they couldn't afford for any male to pull out, masturbate, or sleep with other men because each of those chances gives the opportunity for a human life to be created. The religion was very new 2000 years ago, and it needed as many people as possible to keep it alive.
But we obviously don't have that problem now with over 1 billion Christians worldwide, the VAST majority having families and raising Christians.
If we still followed those rules, all marriages in which the woman is not a virgin pre-marriage, are invalid. Any swear word involving "holy", or saying "Oh my God" will send you to hell as fast as any homosexual act.

If someone followed all of Leviticus they would likely be in prison for murder.

What a load. Especially when you consider the penalty for doing these things. Let's look at this logic. They didn't want their men pulling out or pleasuring themselves because they thought it reduced there chances of getting more kids they could indoctrinate. So the solution would be to reduce their numbers by killing whoever did this.

Where does it say your suppose to stop following what's in there?

Lol I don't follow the Bible at all, ever. And I concur with Mage, Leviticus is one free ticket to the electric chair.
This made me think. So, I decided to look up the origin of the word homosexual. I looked at several sources and I'd say the average date to when the word was created was around 1870. I'm pretty sure the "Bible" was in place before 1870.
Then with further research I found that there are a lot of mistranslations. For example:
I Cor 6:9 notes that Paul uses the word "orneia." Some version of the Bible out right translate this as homosexuality. In reality, it means prostitute or harlot for hire, type deal.
