This has been an ongoing topic of the population of AG. Obviously there will be new armatars at some point. If they are going to be pro or usermade, we will find out in time.
As long as I could get the old white one back, that was more me.

I have a strong hunch they already have a brand new set of armatars ready to come out of the package, just on the gut feeling that they have been preparing AG3 for a long time. It isn't a necessary aspect of AG3, but I feel that they may have added more in. Some reasons may be the armatars pertaining to the logos of the shield and the lion; we may have those for new users to the site. As Ian said, adding brand-new, professionally-made armatars is totally up to Daniel, however, we get to enjoy the freedom to upload custom armatars. Depending on how that goes determines how armatar pics are affected in the future.

It couldn't be ALL bad. I mean, the team has stressed that only users with a specific amount of karma* may upload custom armatars. One side dictates that this will allow only the contributing users to upload armatars, while one side predicts that it won't matter; it could be the same way as how people get the higher armatars--posting just enough to get the armatars, then not contribute much at all.

All the same I still have my reservations as to how well this will work in practice. I can only hope that it isn't abused or overused.

Not to my knowledge, unless Dan's working with someone and hasn't told the rest of us.

You'll need to have a pretty hefty karma score to unlock it. And we'll have to approve your upload before it goes live, and we'll deal with abuse accordingly.

Why not have users get the chance to use some 'Gamatars' for personal use? =)

I took some shots of several games' armatars that could be used, hope it works... :/











This should be a popular way of creating and increase the using of different armatars!
Plus, there is no need for making new ones by an artist...

As we've stated SEVERAL TIMES ... Dan is the one who will decide if/when new armatars will be added. Users can upload custom armatars to share with their immediate friends once they advance in standings/reputation.
