I think that the way the whole thing could be solved is by allowing their priests to get married. Getting married would help the priests do whatever their version of a good job is without suppressing natural urges, thus stopping whatever sick need they have molest young people.

The reason that it sticks out that priests like kids is because it's simply bigger news and more stunning.

And the top brass of the church has been covering for them, and this apparently has been an ongoing issue with this particular religion.

the catholic church has celebate priests because it changed from the traditions of the ancient church. Any proper Apostolic church would say that Priests don't have to be celebate, and are aloud to be married with kids.

perhaps it would be more accurate to say they are slow to change.

Im not sure i understand your comment, but the early church did not have celebate priests, and the Catholic church changed their religion into only having celebate priests, so im not sure if i am correct about your comment, but i think it would be more appropriate to say something like 'The Catholic church was too willing to change their religion, even if they thought what they were changing was right'

I'm saying they are slow at changing there ways until they feel they absolutely have to. As it was pointed out this policy was changed so that the priests wouldn't leave what they had to their family instead of the church. So it would stand to reason the felt they had to make that policy change.

True or not, the Catholic church still did change from the traditions of the Apostolic church, which was a bad thing to do, whether or not it seemed like a good thing to do at the time

Where do you see me arguing this point?

My grandfather was an alter boy when he was growing up and was molested by the priest. I don't think letting them get married is going to change anything. If they are true men of God, they would not give into the temptation to molest anyone. I think, the parents should monitor what goes on between their children and their priest. I think it is dumb for a parent, knowing full well other cases of priests molesting children, to expose their children to that situation.
