This is the place to discuss the greatest genre known to man: Progressive and the greatest progressive acts known to man.
Don't know what progressive music is? Well, here are some examples of each sub-genre to get started. Note that all genres are awesome, but some are harder to get used to than others:

Eclectic Prog -King Crimson -Van Der Graaf Generator -Gentle Giant
Experimental/Post Metal -Tool -Devin Townsend -Ananthema
God bless your merry soul. That is certainly one of Porcupine tree's best progressive album. Whenever I walk out in the rain it just spurs me to put ''Arriving somewhere but not here'' on my discman. Steven Wilson is quite a talent, especially given the fact that he composes most of the music sheets for most of the instruments, play some of them and is author/singer of the lyrics.
I recently bought a remastered record of ''selling England by the pound'', by Genesis, because my turntable did its time, and I must say; Chapeau! Firth of fifth never cease to amaze me; time after time.
Even though I already mentionned Harmonium, I'll post a link to one of their amazing songs. It is most certainly the best band Quebec has ever produced even as of now, 25 years later.

Genesis is one of those bands I know I have to check out, but my CD store is too limited when it comes to Prog <_<. I've heard quite a few of their songs and they're quite incredible though. The momment I see one of their records, I'm sure to get them.
Also, what do you guys think about Dream Theater's new song? I think it's quite great. Better than both of DT's previous albums (bar a few exceptions).
