On November 8th, 2010, the following will happen:

1. Our closed beta process will begin in the morning
Our closed beta users have already been chosen. Chances are excellent that if you haven't already heard from us by now on an official basis, you won't be in the closed beta. The closed beta group will help with some core testing, which may be as boring as following a list of instructions or a list of things to test for functionality. Their testing will last as long as it takes to get some basic portions of the site working 100% perfectly. Only then will we start the open beta.

2. Our open beta sign-up page will go live sometime between 10am and 6pm
The public beta sign-up page will be at http://beta.armorgames.com/. On that page, you'll only need to enter your Email address. I highly recommend you use the same Email address as your AG2 account, so we can synchronize your account settings easier, and it won't make sense to register multiple Email accounts because beta testers who do not reply to their invite codes will get dropped from the beta. We will not manually add anyone to the list. If you want in, you have to add yourself. I expect it will be some time in the morning, United States Pacific (California) time, but we might need longer to get everything synchronized.

3. We will send out messages on Twitter letting people know that AG3 Beta is starting
I highly recommend you follow these Twitter accounts for updates:
- @armorgames - this is the official Armor Games twitter feed where we announce new games being released, but we'll also announce on here when the beta sign-up page is live. I don't know how much else we'll say on this Twitter account about the beta.
- @cormyn - this is my personal Twitter account (well, one of them), where I will be posting information about the beta process once we get started. I expect to be pretty verbose about what we're working on, things that are working, etc.

We'll probably tell our closed beta users not to say too much publicly about AG3 until someone from AG says it first.

We don't expect the closed beta to go on very long before we start inviting people who signed up after the 8th.

I just needed to know what time zone it was in. Then I could figure out what the time would be in my time zone.

that link compares California time with your time:

http://www.kellywoodwfb.com/time_zone_map.jpg

so find your area, compare it with los angeles, and find the time difference. if it's positive, add some hours; negative subtract.

Also, remember to always take daylight savings time into account. DST here is still in effect until April of next year. Thus, the time zone in New Zealand right now is -13. Your image is wrong Frank. S. California is actually -8.

I don't think daylight savings will affect anything if your clock(s) have been changed to the right time. If they're still on the time before daylight savings ended then your going to be in a bit of trouble.

Alright, so the time cormyn mentioned was Pacific Standard Time. I'm good now.

Actually California is -7 while our Daylight Saings Time is in effect, but that's only for another week or two, I believe.

Either way, even if everyone who reads the forums signs up, we'll probably still need *thousands* more users, since our forums are only visited by something like 3% of our users. )

If-you-wanna-beta-test-click-here news bulletin? Maybe a fancy-pantsy advertisement up on the games to link to beta, armorgames, com? That will draw a few thousand more, maybe even more than that.

Sorry for pic all--totally didn't pay attention to the +/-'s.

Does anyone know a site to find out when it starts in south Australia?

When AG3 starts in South Australia you mean? Well, you may need instructions for this one:

First, let's use the linky that people are using now: Find Los Angeles, which is the initial point of time to use.

Next, find Sydney. Based on my pic of the timezones on page 2 (which is oppositely wrong), south Australia will be half an hour BEHIND Sydney.

Back to the link I gave you, go to LA and imagine it to be 9:00. Take that, add or subtract from Sydney, and then subtract by half an hour. That should give you your time period.

If that time zone isn't correct, then I would just use Sydney's time zone and prepare for it--be early.

Time Zone difference from U.S.A. â" California â" Los Angeles
Adelaide +18:30
OK I tried using my brain. does this mean an 18hour thirty minute time difference?

Comparing Adelaide with LA, that should be correct--you should be 18 and a half hours ahead of schedule.

So...9:00 AM for LA would be.... 3:30 AM for you?

I think I am only an hour from the regular time on here.

You don't have to use the link... Look at the time post, then look at your computers clock. Ta da.

When the signup opens it'll be 12:00 pm. And I'll be in school. Curse you school and time zone difference!

I'll have to register when it's 3:00 pm because that's when I get back from school.

I'm so excited.

For you it's on a Tuesday, for me it's on a Monday.

Also, my sympathies for having to sign up so late at night (if info is true)
