ForumsThe TavernForums, Why so slow?

There seem to be plenty of active users here at Armor Games. I see lots of people with over 200 posts and quite a few people with over 1,000 posts. But, the forums always seem to be slow. It sometimes takes hours for threads to get responses and often I'll only see just a few of the same people posting through out the day. (I've been on the site at all hours of the day/night as well.)

Is it me? Why so slow?

Yes, the forums are currently slow the past month. You could say it's been slow the whole year even. I think it's because some people that were here a few months ago aren't here anymore, or that people have gone into vacation into the world of life and they're dealing with that.

Don't worry, once AG3 comes out things will speed up.

Exams, that is why. At least that is my reason.
Usually the forums go near dead during the time just before Christmas and before the summer holiday. During the holidays it is pretty active, but people usually only remember the downtimes, because no one makes threads saying "Forums, why so active".

As mentioned, when the next version launches, per perhaps even open beta does, the forums will be thick of people discussing it (especially if beta does not have forums on its own).

I had thought since the introduction of AG3 section forums were going unusually fast.

well they are slow at times. One time the forumgames section was really active then The tavern was a bit empty.

Well I'm in school at the moment, which means that about 12-15 hours of my day gone right there.

I would be in school if it wasn't for my strep throat... On the bright side, more posting for me!

Yes. The forums are slow, but i think that's mainly because here in America its right before Turkey Break. I'm sure it will start to speed back up closer to the 25.
And as an added bonus, a meme captioned by me.

It's been slower. To be honest, we only have ~500 active forumers for the entire community. If a thread doesn't get any responses in a couple weeks, we can just pronounce it dead. It's typical for a thread to get responses up to and including an hour. This ain't no chat room where the posts are in real-time and are attended to on the spot.

I imagine, with the new formats and new features coming our way, Armor Games will get a pre.tty.big.number of forumers in the future.

I never thought to figure in vacations and exams for the reasons forums are slow. It makes so much sense though.

I kind of like the smaller community (aside forum the slow forum response). I'm almost afraid to see what is going to happen when AG3 comes out. It'll bring in good stuff, but bad stuff to (more spammers, trolls, etc.) sigh.

I kinda thought it had to do with the fact that for most places it is school time. I know that is a reason Im not on as much.

Who's to say more activity in the forums won't be for the better? If we get more spammers and trolls, they will be taken care of. We have mods, you know. And if the activity is great enough, we will definitely get more

I've been on the forums during and not during school hours and I've seen a few days were I'm checking through an entire 20 hour+ day (I've been up for more than 20 hours is what I'm saying) so even if you were in another time zone I would assume I would have seen a spike in the activity. There is a small spike, but when the forums are slow like this it's barely noticeable.

The majority of AG users, are either in their high school or college users. After their 8 hour school day they also have several hours of homework, even more for the college students.

The majority of forum users that is. Most of us have school-related matters to attend to, whether we be in middle school or university.

I agree with Frank. I trust our moderators to take care of all the activity which AG3 shall bring.
