How do we tell what is sinful and what is not? Who decides? My basis is the Bible.

lets try and not troll... I don't see any over the top anti atheist comments. your opinion is yours and you are welcome to it. lets try and be less insensitive. not only does that help with friendships, but you'll get more out of the conversations you have with other people...even if you have no desire to be "friends" with the person with which you are conversing.

I think that sin is something that has to be defined by the person.
You can't have the general will of people telling you what is a sin or not, because it really only matters in your book.
MOST people have a bad feeling after they steal something, so it is said that stealing is a sin.

Adjacent/hypotenuse

since this is a religious question, I believe you should seek someone who has more experience in religion... like a pastor. or a priest.

although most of the non-believers here know more about faith then do those that practice it... but its almost always shown in a negative light when shown by someone who doesn't believe in the teachings and/or tries to disprove them. its true that a priest or a pastor would also be biased but you've already had a dose of negative bias towards the subject so there should be no problem with balancing it out and getting a little positive bias

So you are basically saying to try and be a Moderate..... The dying breed.
While I do agree with this, I would suggest going to a more.... neigborhood type pastor or priest because they probably wouldn't try to turn you over to religion.

Actually it's sine, not sin. Sin is just the abbreviation placed on a calculator.

abbreviations are synonymous with their fully written out coutnerparts... therefore interchangeable.

I can define sin in four words:
Going against God's way.

Meaning anything that will hurt anyone and anything around you, emotionally and mentally.

Bullying, cussing, even sarcasm counts as sin. But God forgives us for it.

But "God" has a right to hurt people? mentally and emotionally?
You cannot expect to enforce a law by breaking it.

Hmm... But why do some parts of the Bible say to kill homosexuals? Isn't that hurting someone? And what about threatening people with endless torture (in hell)? Isn't that hurting someone (mentally)?

Yeah because animal and human sacrifice doesn't do AANNNYYY harm to those being sacrificed.

But God forgives us for it.

Unless you don't believe, that's just unforgivable.

IMO, the worst way to try and get someone to convert.

The Bible is saying that you are justified to kill Homosexuals, this must be saying to exclude the: Do Not Murder commandment, as killing Homosexuals must be a decree from God.
Although this is in the old testament, so I do not believe that killing homosexuals should still be justified. I believe that if we are supposed to still kill them, Jesus would have reinforced this in the New Testiment.

Human sacrafice is not related to Christians, unless you can support this claim with a Bible verse that PROVES that their has been a HUMAN sacrafice, it is a false claim.

Animal Sacrafice,
This was in the old testiment, these things would have been accepted back then, although now, we do not have to sacrafice animals. Jesus came, and gave himself up, so that he may be the ultimate sacrafice, thus forgiving all our sins and this let's us have a open and intimate relationship with God once more.
