The question is simple... What would happen when an unstoppable force collided with an unmovable object?
Will both be destroyed?
Will nothing happen?
Will the world explode?

State your opinion and discuss.

Both objects will cease to exist

???
I mean what would happen if there actually was an unstoppable force and unmovable object. I know there isn't any in this world, that would just be silly, but what would happen if it did?

Then both objects would cease to exist because they keep cancelling each other out.

This is from the same wiki:

According to modern scientific understanding, no force is completely irresistible, and there are no immovable objects and cannot be any, as even a minuscule force will cause a slight acceleration on an object of any mass.

An immovable object would have to have an inertia that was infinite, and therefore infinite mass. Such an object would collapse under its own gravity and create a singularity. An unstoppable force would require infinite energy, which does not exist in a finite universe.

This is also how the word "contradiction" came to be as a Chinese word.

It is a paradox, thus has indefinite answers which any cannot be true.

Similar to dividing by zero, you get a horrid situation. An opening in the space-time continuum pops up and a Chuck Norris clone army begins battle with a clone army of Jackie Chans. This proceeds until existence is reduced to tiny bits, and the Big Bang resets everything again. Except this time we call cats dogs and vice versa, and oranges are actually blue, but we'll still call them oranges.

The unstoppable force could just pass through the unmovable object...

wouldn't it be blocked by the unmovable object?

No, all the unmovable object has to do is not be moved. It doesn't have to stop everything, just things that can move it. The "force" could consist of a type of energy that does not react at all with the object, and just pass through it as if it were not there.

i know it is impossible to have these things, but if there were, my bet would be that the unstoppable would split in two.

I say Batman and the Joker are produced. Which means they continue to defy eachother for all eternity.

I was trying to think of a way to say this, but I think you did quite well.

So they just pass by each other...
What if the unmovable object was a solid wall?

*loud crash*
*explode*
