What bands in the music industry do you dislike? Why do you dislike the band and please be specific because just saying "because they're awful" doesn't count. It doesn't matter what genre they are, just if you explain why you dislike them. Now please just answer the question and and don't turn this into an extreme hate thread. THANKS!
PS: If you want you can also post a song you dislike for that band aswell.

Mallcore (AKA nu-metal). I hatehatehate most mallcore I have heard. Slipknot, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, all of it. All that I've heard is boring and too similar to every other song and just . . . bleh.

I am so tempted to go ahead and lock this because threads running purely on negative emotion tend to develop into flaming nests. Keeping an eye on it.

People are of course entitled to dislike whatever they do, just (as mentioned in the OP) don't just be all "that sucks". Too large chance of a "no, you suck!" sorta response.

And I can't even be on topic, because I really don't pay attention to what genres are called, or what bands I don't like are named (why would I care? I don't wanna look them up :x).

i have to agree with you thisisnotanalt, most of that stuff is medeocre songwriting out the wazzo. like snuff by slipknot, bleh. linkin park isnt that bad but ya the song writing is horrible. disturbed is probably the less of the nu metal evils though, they are fairly tollerable

Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus... basically anything that children and young teens like. Bieber, because he's a 16 year old joke, who needs to get hit with more water bottles and his songs suck more than a 5 dollar *****.. and Miley, because she's.... pretty much a jailbait skankwad. Also dislike rap, hip hop, r&b, and the such..... I don't feel like dancing, so stop trying to force me to with your "slick beats". Well, I suppose I like a few rap songs, depends on what it's about and who it's by. I abhor most country music....unless I'm drunk... then all I need is a cowboy hat andt some spurs. HonkeyTonk Badonkadonk anyone? ( I only like that one for athe music video....so don't judge me. ) Oh, and that music the emo kids listen to.... where they are trying to sing, but it sounds like they are crying into the microphone, and talk about cutting themselves and what not? Please, just shut up and do it already. If you wanted to die so badly, you'd do it, not complain to the world about it. -sigh- If I think of any other music I dislike I'll be sure to come back.... provided... this post doesn't get deleted.

Well, I don't really like techno music, or some of the more extreme cases of metal (Amon Amarth, for example). Rappers who can't think of anything more original than "I'm cool, 'cus I do drugs. Now I'm gonna go shoot people" are just awful as well.

I've got a pretty wide taste in music, however, and there aren't really a lot of bands that I can say I really dislike. There is a difference between disliking, and just not liking. At least in my opinion. The only time I really dislike a band is when you don't like their music, and the radio keeps playing their songs over and over again.

I guess the only band/artist I can say that I really dislike would be a Swedish singer called Veronica Maggio. Whenever I hear her songs, I feel like stabbing something. And I'm usually not a violent person.

Mallcore (AKA nu-metal). I hatehatehate most mallcore I have heard.

When it was just some of the early staples like Linkin Park it seemed like an alright thing at the time. I mean Meteora was actually good. Similarly I liked (some of) Slipknot's stuff (in general they're a bit OTT, I mean 3 drummers?), before just about everybody started being all nihilistic. But by that time everything was already starting to go downhill. Popular bands that I actually don't like include Rise Against (the melodic alternative stuff really doesn't appeal to me), and Fall Out Boy (hailed as a big thing but didn't sound like much to me, by this point it indeed becomes all the same thing). If you want real angsty melancholy rock, try The Cure!

As for Justin Bieber, let's get some specifics in here. I finally (after many months of only seeing the video itself) heard the lyrics to Baby. I'm convinced that the reason people like it is because a) Justin Bieber looks prepubescent (the ramifications of which are creepy beyond belief for those screaming fangirls) b) people are sucked into thinking "that level of lyrics can make it bigtime? THEN I MUST BE PRO!" Those lyrics sound like a kid's first attempt at a love song. Bloody hell, I think it WAS his first attempt at a love song. There's no finesse whatsoever, only the celebration of mediocrity and marketing. If he ever becomes a credible musician (I hope this happens) then he might look back on that song and feel deeply, deeply ashamed.

The other contemporary artist that rates a mention here is Ke$ha. Tik Tok was the singularly most annoying track of the year, not because it was popular but because it was pretty much stole stuff from every hit pop song before that, the end result being something that sounded the same as everything else. Not to mention the entirety of her ...stuff is about being trashy and getting trashed. I can't even dance to any of it.

*puts on U Can't Touch This to get all other songs out of his head* hammertime!

Will do, assuming you take back everything negative you said about Ke$ha.

But I LUUUURVE Ke$ha.

OT: The following is a list of bands I hate

Within Temptation
Nightwish
Inhumate
Dimmu Borgir
Cradle Of Filth

Reasons being; they are metal, and most of their names could be mistaken for the titles of pornos (seriously, think about it).

See, the entire 80s/90s British alternative scene is fantastic. There's the Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Smiths, and best of all, all the shoegaze/dream pop bands - Lush, Slowdive, Cocteau twins, stuff like that. I don't like mallcore because it's all painfully tolerable - none of the bands try to try, and that along with the generally half-a**ed songwriting and recycled song structure just can't old my attention.

The other contemporary artist that rates a mention here is Ke$ha. Tik Tok was the singularly most annoying track of the year, not because it was popular but because it was pretty much stole stuff from every hit pop song before that, the end result being something that sounded the same as everything else. That's the problem with the crazy crunkcore stuff she does - it's frenzied and contrived at the same time, somehow. At least she's more tolerable than brokenCYDE.

Within Temptation
Nightwish
Inhumate
Dimmu Borgir
Cradle Of Filth

Nightwish is cheese, but can be enjoyable on occasion. The rest of your list is, yes, awful metal music. Dimmu and Cradle are two of the poorest excuses for bands I've ever heard of.
