Ignoring the rude comment above, let's hope everything goes smoothly. Situations like these need to be done with as much caution as with dealing with a bomb, because one false move and terrible things can happen.

Has he made any demands yet? Or is this a situation where he thinks there is only one way out?

Is this really something that belongs on AG. Thats more of a local news that people hundreds or thousands of miles away don't really care about or, it doesn't effect anyone outside of your town.

...Right, just like Columbine totally never affected anything outside of locally, ever, at all, and we totally don't care that peoples' lives are at stake.
Right guys? Guys?

Is everyone really gonna remember that? You know the difference between a shooting (massacre) and a hostage situation?

That's where the Etc. part comes in. News. Science. Breakthroughs. Misc. Etc.

This is deemed fit for the WEPR, because it is not deemed fit for the Tavern.

It seems that he took his own life a few hours ago - the actual ordeal is over, now the long road to getting over this can begin for the people affected.

Anyway, I'd say the influence spreads a lot further than the local level - it got TV coverage in the UK and a few other countries which makes raises awareness to international levels.

It is my personal belief that the best way to allow teenagers and childrens to expand their minds is to give them the space necessary to do so. Each time such an incident happens, schools all over the country, and even the world, become more protective. As schools become more protective, the amount of freedoms each student has are further retricted in the name of safety. Although it is not obvious, many students become stressed out in such overbearing situations. These students are often called rebels and trouble makers when really they merely wish to be treated more like an adult.

Although this may sound petty, my concerns are not with the students or their families but rather the students who will likely be negatively effected by this ordeal.
