Yes, the moderator team is actively cleaning out "spammy" comments from the games, starting with one-word posts. Our rules clearly say that anything fewer than about 7 words can be considered spam and removed without notice or warning.

Hey administrator, i didn't mean how to do it unnoticed, i thought what should we stay clear from, like advice Topic, and i think this topic isn't a reason to take me 250 points again, because there isn't any controvesal stuff going on here. Also, with this topic i wanted to start my forum activity, but you degraded me instantly, and i think it's just not fair !

Most mods are generally stricter on the game comments. Because "This game is really hard" doesn't really contribute anything but.... a warning that will be buried in a moment by twenty other comments saying "Lol", "hard", "This is gay" and so on.
Besides, it makes me ask "Why?". And if I can ask that, it isn't really helpful.

This game has rather bad controls, to the point where I can hardly keep myself alive. Especially the jumping is not reacting when it should, which makes the character fall to his death. It is frustrating, and should be fixed.

Like that?

Hey administrator,

Way to take a general comment personally? He just explained. If he didn't think this thread was worth being active, he would have locked it.

Also, what i didn't put in my last post, is, if you have those spammy comments deleted, how much points for punish do you lose ? And please answer me about my 250 points, i lost 500 points in 12hours !
can i say, This game is good, i like it. - doesn't that contribute to that game, by putting comments that speak nice thing about a particular game ?

Well, you could describe how to make them better. The commenting system is to help the game developer, or have conversations with other users about the game. (AG3 will be better equipped than this version of the web site for conversational threads)

The exact wording of our posting rules:

We also classify "spam" as short replies (usually fewer than 7 words) which do not contribute to our game feedback system. Short messages are highly discouraged and can be removed without notice or warning.

The operative words there are usually fewer. There are some comments which are shorter like "WASD doesn't work" or whatever, which are still helpful to the game developer. But just posting "ok" doesn't help anyone. Or posting a game comment with how you rated the game. Tell us WHY you like the game.

As for our spam cleanup: primarily, we're just targeting 1-word posts right now, maybe the occasional 2-word post, any non-English post, things that contain lots of profanity, misspelled profanity, racial terms or other text that breaks our Rules of Conduct, etc.

I think that these points spoil the joy for some people, who just want to get as closer to top of the List as possible

Kusic, I understand your frustration about it, and I apologize if my first reply seemed directed at you personally.

Every game comment that gets deleted, whether it's for being spam, or breaking some other rule, loses the points it awarded. It's the same when we delete forum posts or posts on user profiles.

If a friend of yours posts on your profile wall, and you later delete their message, they also lose those points, because the message is gone.

That's how the system was built, and why we're rebuilding the whole point system in AG3, and adding a new "Reputation" system for rating what people write as comments or forum posts.

Unfortunately, we have a lot of users who literally spam the same comment on every game page, JUST to gain points to be at the top of the list. And we tend to be harder on those people, and deal with them first, before dealing with one-word comments.

Once this whole cleanup effort is done, and maintainable, we can start migrating some of the commenting system to AG3, where helpful posts can help you gain Reputation on the site as other users "like" what you've written.

That's exactly right, Cenere. If a user has to scan past a bunch of short messages because there's no context as to WHY the user thought "cool game", then the message isn't helpful.

We can all tell how much you like the game just by rating the game. And if you don't like it at first, but like it more later, AG3 will allow you to re-rate games, so we can see when a game becomes well-liked again.

I think this thread bring up exactly why people should read rules and guidelines, and the new user part of the forum. It tends to make sure things like this do not happen.

No, you misunderstood me, i'm not frustrated about losing 2 or 1 point for comment or forum post, but i have been collecting those 500 for at least 4 months, and thing is i lost them yesterday, and i lost them today, without any obvious reason, at least for me.
