I live in surrey, and there's an olympic thing being built near my town

oh cool, I don't think I've heard about that one

The olimpics are in 18 months. That's a lot of time. maybe sometime in 2011 or 2012 would be a better time for this topic.

im so excited im hopfully going to them. see gymnastics, swimming maybe, and probably the throwers in track

the thing is that i would have to go to a plane,so im gonna be watching it on my tv

Why would i wast my time going to the Olympic games THEY SUCK in comparison to the fifa world cup

I already have said that they are being held in London

I doubt the opening will be as grand as china's, but probably more... fun, free. I hope they put a bit of tradition (like a footguards/husehold cavalry bit) instead of it all directed at youth culture.

Eh. From just experiencing the 2010 Winter Games and such a huge waste of money and expense that was, I'd be a little wary. If the expenditure isn't way over the top like it was here then it shouldn't be a problem

They're going to be a disaster for London (my home town too), massive amounts will be spent on the event and it won't improve the lives of Londoners, it'll just push up tube and bus prices to pay for the games.

People in the area where the Olympic stadium is being built, right from the start the people living there were extremely angry because some of them had to move out althouh they got paid a sum of money they were still un happy
