The title amy be a slight bit misleading. No one painted the world white, or anything thing of that nature, or sucked all the color in the world away through a gigantic vacum (though that seems like it could be a plot for movie)
What the thread is actually about, is the white stuff, powder (not cocaine) but snow!
I awoke this fin morning to a nice coverign of 6 inchs of snow covering the roads, and street, houses, and lawns, it was everywhere. Yes while six inches may not seem like alot, thts not all we got. The snow continued to fall throught the day, and as it snowed on, we have neared an inch, with no end in sight. We are sitting with fingers crossed awaiting a closing. (of school that is)
So what are some of your memorable snow moments?
Last year we had over three feet of snow. I dug tunnels everywhere and then made a huge snow pile, it lasted two months.
Three years ago we had a massive ice storm forcing both my sets of grandparents to come live with us because we got out power back in 36 hours while theres took about 5 days.
I still love snow though, I don't remember specific memories just a mash-up of happiness.
Last year we had almost a week out of school because the roads were so bad. that means that the roads were so slick that tanks couldn't have manuvered on them, because my administration is crazy...
I like when the snow is hard and you can walk on it without crushing it if you feep your steps light. Never try sliding on it though. bad bad bad idea.
i remember 2 years ago when we used medium plastic trashcans to build a massive igloo... it could hold 4 people comfortably, but alas some fool jumped through the wall while someone was inside it... ( was HILARIOUS! trying to dig him out! )
and not long after, same year, when we built a large ice track on a sloped roadway (the roads at the mil swchool weren't used much, especially in winter snow), so we all had sliding ( with feet) contests and probably killed over 150 brain cells collectively that day.... Ah, good times, good times...
I bet you would enjoy Extreme Combat Sledding Noob See, all you gotta do is position everyone on two different hills facing each other, slide down at the same time, and JOUST! You gotta do it when you have sticky snow so it breaks your falls, when and if they occur. Powdery snow doesn't work that well.
I think, most of the moment of snow I actually remember would be waiting for the train, waiting for the bus, waiting for parents picking me up, waiting two and a half hour on a bus until my parents could pick me up.... Snow storms are a bother.
But I generally like snow. It is awesome looking and white and nice and cold.
The only thing I can really remember is endless shoveling of snow during last years blizzards in my area. That was not fun, especially with the fact that the snow blower was broken. Sledding isn't that great for me because I don't have many big hills. However, I do like it when it snows, I like the cold and there is the chance of a school delay/ cancellation.
Lucky people who get snow. Although I suppose it is a good thing that where I live we don't get too much snow.
Every year it will only snow once or maybe not at all. Last year we got a lot of snow one day and me and my friends started a snowball fight. Good times, good times.
In England it's snowing good. A crazy thing happened though. A woman called the police because someone stole her snowman. I had a snowball fight but that's it since I just want to drink some milk.
