Now, what do YOU think? Does religion cause wars? Does it keep people in line? Or is this topic pointless? I think that religion is BAD. With no religion on Earth, there would be less war. WW2. Massive slaughter of Jews. Without Jews or any other religious group, WW2 may never have even started.

and no that's not why people joined religion, the thing is 98% of Christians didn't join to be in a religion, when Christians have kids they instantly become Christian without even having a choice to choose if they wanna be in a religion, so when they grow up, their families and Churches will do their job teaching the kids what's right and what's wrong, basically Heaven = good and hell = bad lol.

Ok i think religion is a good thing, "WHY?" because it gives people something to believe n in when they're scared or when they're in need. plus if you've noticed that most of the laws in america is based off things from the bible...but anyways Religion is something that is both good and bad...

You know what Hitler did was only a crusade against Jews like a Christian's Crusade against Pagan's right? And the dominence part in Christian crusdes they tried to capture Pagan land like what Hitler tried to do against Jewish land (when I say land I mean houses). Both of these Crusades I said are equally horrible . The crusaders (Christian crusaders raped, tortured and then killed Pagan's like Hitler did to Jew's right?!? Both Crusadeing parties thought they were doing the right thing and yes there was bad people in the Nazis's crusade and the Christian's crusade.
Now to the question in this thread as a CHRISTIAN I'm saying religion is good without religion there'd be more choas as people would want to do whatever they want because they wouldn't be afraid of going to hell or trying to be good to get admission to heaven.

Good point but I believe theres over a billion people in all diffrent religions that would be free doing whatever they want seeing hows theres no after life

When was the last war caused by Athiests? Of the wars that Wasn't caused by Religion, they were caused by a conflict of ideas and/or beliefs.
Considering the fact that during the times that war was rampant on our planet most of the people believed in some kind of religion, and that atheism has only become "opular" during the last three centuries you can't use this as an excuse. Also why war has never been over whether or not there is a god, almost every war in modern Russia was started by an atheist i.e. Stalin.
Oh and I can name two wars off the bat that wasn't caused because of religion "The Americain Civil War(s) (The one over independence and the other one about the North And South to free slaves" "And the war over North America (fought by the British and French)"
