Well, I have a problem that I cannot seem to fix! I've been googling and can't find a decent answer.
I am using Chrome browser 8.0.552.224
All of the sudden today my space bar decided to start scrolling the page instead of working with the flash game like it should. I was playing Flight and every time I punch that space bar, it scrolls.
I have never had this problem before today a few moments ago. I'm not sure what changed or adjusted itself.
Any ideas from anyone on what to do? This REALLY inhibits flash game playing.
You have tried the "click inside the flash area" thing, yeah?
My spacebar (in Firefox) scrolls when I'm browsing normally. If I accidentally click outside a flash window I need to click inside it again to stop it from doing so and working with the flash thing.
If it's not as simple as that, I am wonderfully clueless. Merry Yule, though.
Oh yea, I've been tinkering with this for the last hour. I tried restarting the laptop and everything. I'm fooling with the keyboard functions right now thinking I might have hit some FN + something to activate space bar scrolling.
Wish Cen was around, his Search Fu is much stronger than mine... All I could find was 2 year old mentions of the problem with everyone being confused about how to fix it. -.-
The only thing that I could say to help is clicking inside the screen or just mess around with the buttons a little. You could've changed the settings by accident.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with Google Chrome, since I don't use it and never have.

This may be the key, since you said that it worked just fine moments ago. It could be that you performed some sort of keystroke that isn't allowing you to sync the space bar with the flash game.
Well, do you have windows or a mac?? If you have a mac, on the little apple at the top left hand corner click it and go to system preferences then look for scrolling. It should be there, but I am not sure what section it is under. If you have a windows, I am not sure if it will work. I only have a mac.
Windows Vista, but I think it has to either be a browser setting (which I cannot find via googling) or a keyboard function. So, I suppose I should say that my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite
Oh, ok. I didn't know that. On Chrome click where it says Chrome and you should see Preferences, try fiddling around there. I am not sure because I don't have Chrome but my friend does. Maybe do a virus check. It might be a Collor de Mello virus, it infects your browser and makes it act all weird.
Actually I think this is a default setting on all computers.
Elaborate?
I really don't want to reinstall Chrome because of all my extensions, but I might have to. I see that a lot of people have this problem when I search for it on google, but there is no solution.
I've been tinkering with Internet Options with no luck. Why is there no solution to this via google? It's unreal how many people have this problem and cannot fix it.
