Yea, it's pretty much like acting out a character in a scenario. Kind of like zombie survival, i guess. Most enjoyable for writers.

Anyone actually interested in RP? If so, discuss.

Not in the slightest. RPing, in nearly all forms, is the bane of good writing.

I put on my robe and wizard hat.

But in all seriousness, I find that certain RPs can get very....disturbing. The *hush hush* kinds anyway. The kinds Dacer said don't sound so bad. Maybe I should stay away from Bash.org for a while.

Actually, no. It just depends on the people participating.

Also I tend to stay away from those really disturbing Rp's, they just scream "FURRY ****!" or some ****.

How so? It can get your imagination going and get you thinking as if you were someone else.

Organized Roleplay groups actually sound fun. They have to about scenarios that work though >_> So many end up getting boring, screwed up, or just fail altogether.

Well im apart of a very under populated forum that has a minor rp community, but i can't really invite anyone yet.

And it's very true, if people are not into the RP in question, they lose interest very quickly and the whole thing goes to hell. There are a few that survive, but unless you have an active community, they still go at a very slow pace.

I actually do have a budding RP idea growing in my head that is supposed to follow the "other" story I'm supposed to be typing away in the AMW forum but am too immersed in Christmas stuff to do so. Possibly tomorrow or later I could get that started and then the actual RP.

RP is hard to get into, but really fun when you get a good storyline going.
Also, there is a slight difference between roleplay and Fighting.
ex.
fighting
weirdo246: I KILLED U
exampledude8: I KILLED U BACK
Roleplay
weirdo246:The rockfall sealed you off in the dragons cave...
exampledude8: *Bursts out with his sword of thunder*

I sometimes like to roleplay. Used to be really nerdy and played D&D.

Most people actually have a wrong vision about roleplaying. Decent roleplaying places can be fun and they aren't neccesarily nerdy. It develops writing abilities and skills in languages, it entertains and it doesn't have to be even slightly disturbing. I'm not talking about some of the previous examples given, but for example, my roleplaying site based on harry potter. It's usually only based on a concept, so you wouln't have to like harry for example, just the magical universe.
Roleplaying is haven for dreamers and writers, but also for some of the real weirdo's. Just, those are a minority.

yeah lol. im a dreamer, i usually spend like most of my day just daydreaming and imagining myself in some situation. no wonder people think i am wierd XD. i really like roleplaying because that way you can actually share your imagination and have other people participate in it too. kinda like imaginary multiplayer video games XD

Role playing isn't bad writting. If your a bad writter, then yes, RPing sucks. HOwever if you get a few people who are actually intrested in it, and get some fun things flowing, it can be alot of fun.

I have Rp...ed(?) a few times, but was always let down by people doing impossibly ridiculous things.
