I thought catholicism was the most like the original one that others split from
Catholics are a very... screwed up form of the original Christianity (no offense, protestants aren't all that much better). They focus too much on the church as a governing body (the cause of the Protestant revolution). The bible says no man shall have dominion over another. The modern Christian establishments do orriginate from Catholicism. True Christianity is derived from what the Bible says should be done, not what a Pope nor a bishop nor any other religious "official" says is right. Every Christian is a Jew, thus those whom dissmiss Judaism dismiss Christianity.
Christians and Catohlics are the exact same thing while only having different traditions they the worship Jesus in. Catholics and Christians really need to realize this.

Well...I thought Catholics pray to Mary to, but Protestants don't? Also, they might worship Jesus, but there are a lot of differences between them.
Why should that matter to the statement of not being able to speak to God directly? If people could do it before Jesus then they should be capable after as well. Also if you can't speak directly to God then why would Jesus tell his disciples to pray directly to God?
Ok, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (more commonly known as "Mormon". We probably get the most flak about not being christian, mostly because people think we worship this "Mormon" because that's the only name they know our church by. We believe in the bible as far as it is correctly translated. We have the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ.
Yes, Catholics are Christians.
Also, it's not crazy to receive revelation. God answers your prayers, even if you don't think he does.
In the New Testament, it says many times that Jesus Christ was the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Moses. He was the one whom they spoke to. He was JEHOVAH (which word only appears two or three times in the entire King James Version of the Bible).
Anyways, if anyone wants to know more about what I believe, leave a comment on my profile.
E1337 it is only a cult by definition of the Catholic church.
Also, that was not created by our church. It is a blasphemy of the name of God the Father. I could tell in the first minute of it that it was designed to deceive those who are trying to find a reason to hate the church.
"He grew up on a distant planet, studying Mormon teachings." Give me a break. We have never said that. We do not know the full history of Heavenly Father. The spirit left the room as soon as I started watching your video. It was forged to look like something made by our religion, but it is too obviously a false doctrine. The fact that it uses the word "Mormon" and "Mormonism" is the first clue. The history of Heavenly Father and how he studied "Mormon" beliefs is the second clue.
In short, that video is a mockery of our religion.
You are also wrong about the blacks thing. We let them into our church LONG before you say. We did not allow them to have the priesthood, which brought external pressure. We then changed our ways.
You are swallowing the same anti-LDS propaganda that others have swallowed, and NONE OF IT has withstood the test of time.
Here's a video link for YOU. Before you go persecuting anyone, be sure you know all the facts. I want you to watch starting at 7 minutes into the talk. Leave a comment on my profile when you are done. Safety for the Soul
In case you do NOT listen to the talk, here is a part that I especially want you to know:
For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious historyâ"perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands. Failed theories about its origins have been born and parroted and have diedâ"from Ethan Smith to Solomon Spaulding to deranged paranoid to cunning genius. None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator. In this I stand with my own great-grandfather, who said simply enough, âNo wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.â
sorry for double post, but it seems that some of the formatting didn't work. I'll repost part of it, with the necessary edits to make it readable.
For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history - perhaps like no other book in any religious history. We did not baptize Adolf Hitler. That is a lie. After people baptized for Obama's mother, an official release was sent out saying that unless you specifically know the person who's name you are bringing in to do temple work for (not the names that they already have) or they are in your family, you cannot do temple work for them. We are not barred from being around ex mormons.
South Park is in no way an authority on anything. The fact that you're trying to cite that is pathetic.
Many of the things you have posted in your last post are again lies. Yes, there was polygamy. But it was revoked in the 1890's. Joseph Smith did not try to burn down a newspaper place. He was taken to jail for no real reason. He did not have a gun, so he couldn't have shot back.
Garments are not magical. They do not keep evil away. Evil is everywhere, buddy, so I don't see that happening in the near future.
The reason non members are not allowed in the temple is because of the sacred things that go on in there. If just anyone was allowed in, the spirit would be disrupted.
I am personally ashamed of the acts of other Latter-Day Saints who have done temple work for people without permission from relatives of that person. It is wrong, and we know it.
Tithing... It was actually in Christ's day when it started. The only reason it affects our worthiness to enter the temple (not our standing in general). The Lord gave us everything we have, and all he asks is 10% of what we earn. I'd say that's a pretty small price for life, liberty, and happiness.
Also, we believe in Agency and Accountability. You can choose to do what you want, but you will have to accept the consequences.
Anyways, do you have an email address? I'd like to discuss this with you more, but not in this thread where what we're talking about is unrelated.
