But whats to say the being wouldn't know you would make a grab for both boxes at the last minute?
Exactly. So the overwhelming reason you had for not just taking the closed box gives you overwhelming reason to not take both boxes. In other words, you decided that it was true that you should take the closed box. But that decision made it false that you should take the closed box (because there's another thousand just sitting there). But now you've lost the million, so it's false that you should take both. And so on ...
