It looks more like a hand, because the lion part looks like it is in an awkward position - kind of lopsided.

This isn't much an optical illusion... It's more like a lion drawn in the shape of a handprint, with the normal contours and lines in a normal hand. It looks more like a hand though. A tattooed hand.

It's obviously a hand because no lion has 5 protrusions coming out of it's mane like that. There's just a picture of the lion on the hand.

@Kasic - The 5 protrusions are the 4 legs and tail.

if you stare at it long enough you see the legs and tail, but at first it looks like a hand with a lions face on it. pretty cool though

Uhh. Yeah...a really really really bad legs and tail. No matter how you put the legs/tail, it either is sideways, bow legged, or has a square body.

Def. It has really bad proportions too, no lion has that small of legs. Or maybe it seems that way because you can't see the body...

This was just an example, but may I point out how weird looking the tail is? People haven't posted their own yet, so I'll post another illusion. Can you see all three faces?

I have seen that picture before, but never with the moustache. That makes it way easier to see everything.

I've seen the horses one done with dogs. Can't see the tiger, that's one good optical illusion. *continued staring*
