Man, who skips a line in the anthem? But give her a break. The halftime show was even worse. The only good thing about it was Slash and his guitar, but of course Fergie had to ruin "Sweet child 'o mine".
ya lol i was laughing. she pretty much like didnt sing a single note of the national anthem right anyway, she just sung random notes. even slash wasnt taht good at the half time show either. its pathetic
Anything that wasn't foot ball and commercials was a fail. The best part was when slash came out. But when fergie opened her mouth I left the room. When Usher came out it was awful. The fact that she screwed up was pretty sad. I learned the words in kindergarten. But i guess performing in front of a giant arena isn't her thing.
I watched a grand total of 30 seconds of the half-time show, modern music is started to piss me off. Anyway for the actual subject, I didn't actual see her butcher the national anthem, I just heard about it. I think that some people need to cut here some slack considering how many people she was performing in front of. We all make mistakes, get over it.
Okay, sure. It's not like she hasn't heard the song since like first grade, won four Grammy's and is one of the biggest names in music. Sure, everyone screws up.
Basically, everything but the game in the Super Bowl sucked. The comercials were bad, the halftime show was horrific, and the national anthem was butchered in front of the entire world. Not to mention that there was the only living recipient of the Medal of Honor since Vietnam was standing on the sidelines.
Oh, and I don't know if anyone else heard, but right before the game, the fire marshall came in and had them remove 12,000 seats, because of safety issues.
Of course, because it was a ****ty field, both sides also had like 8 injuries apeace, but that isn't a new field or anything... >_>

1250 people were supposed to sit in temporary seats... those got deemed unsafe. The fans got a refund of 3x the face value of the tickets... 400 of the 1250 watched the game on the screens and 850 of them were moved to unused seats

I don't care. My point is, those seats shouldn't have been there in the first place. If you make a new multi billion dollar stadium, make it right. Don't make the astro turf so hard that people break their collar bones when they fall over, and don't put in to many seats, making it a fire hazzard.

have you ever been on soft astro turf? when you're running as fast as they are breaking a collar bone is easy.. on pretty much any kind of surface... and the seats usually arent there.. its supposed to be a standing space.. so that problem shouldnt happen again
I don't believe it. Someone else here thinks that Christina Aguilera needs to shut up and smoke for about 40 years? Finally! I thought I was alone! And just now realizing that she forgot an entire line of a patriotic song at the Superbowl (no less) just refuels my anger. Even if she didn't forget the lines. She still butchered the song by bending the notes and adding Pop into what was supposed to be a traditional, classic song.
Something about OOOWEEEOHAAAAAAAAEEEEHEHEHEHEEOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHOOOWWWW just makes me want to tear my hair out and scream.
The Glee girl would have done a better job at the Star Spangled Banner and she Disneyfied "America the Beautiful".
By the way, Christina didn't even hit the high G and the high F's at the most important parts of the song.
"And the rocket's red glare" < Third octave G was instead a third octave A, two full notes below the wanted pitch.
"For the land of the free" < Third octave F was instead an E--not a note that the rest of the song agrees with. Of course, I couldn't tell, because she was bending the notes like what a grade school kid does when he plays with an extra long and flexible plastic ruler that makes the flappy sound.
She's supposed to be one of the most popular, professional pop singers in America, right? Or is it the Autotune and Synthesizing that does all the work in her music?
"What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming..." REALLY? How do you forget the lyrics to your own country's national anthem, Aguilera? Just...how? And at such a huge event too, one might think you would be more careful! Hell, I know the words to another country's national anthem, and I've known the words to the US anthem for years and years now. It was hilarious to see the looks on those soldiers' faces when she started butchering the national anthem though. This is how it should be sung. The national anthem of any country should never be "op"-ified. I'm still steamed over the version Aretha Franklin sang at Obama's inauguration.
