dont know if there was a topic about this before but do you prefer fps or 3rd person? or do you like both? which genres of games do you prefer to have fps or 3rd person?
I think they are both great i just like the feel of a gun it sorta makes you feel that you are him it makes games like call of duty and battfield a whole lot better where as a game like uncharted 1 and 2 (soon to be 3!) it is better to be 3rd person i like both but 1st person i like a bit more!
Depends on the game. If it's a hack n' slash, third person. A first person hack n' slash would horrible. A shooter, it depends on how fast- paced it is. A game like Gears of War or Mass Effect would not be nearly as fun in first person. I like games where you can switch between the two perspectives, like Fallout 3.
third person because of better controls and better vision of your enemies
Yeah that's why I like it too. You are more aware of your surroundings. Like if an enemy is right behind you, you don't notice it in first person. Or if you're crossing a bridge with gaps in it and you're not sure how far you need to jump. I also like the camera manipulation where you can look around corners.
i think that it depends on what your doing if your just shooting people than i think 1st person is better. like games like fallout and the elder scrolls because you can change it whenever you want.
3rd person. two great reasons- Demon Soul's and CoD MW2 when you play hardcore 3rd person, I get that looking around the corners could be cheap but its still a lot about reaction time. I wish Oblivion's combat system was more like Demon Soul's then I would play it in 3rd person.
I mainly play shooters in first person while I like everything else in third person. I wouldn't like it if Splinter Cell was in third person, and I wouldn't like if Call of Duty was in third person. I probably play third person games more than first person games, though.
It depends on the game, but generally I prefer first-person for most games, even RPGs, for the immersion factor. I will play third-person, but the awkward camera present in most games ruins the sense of scope and control you have.
