dont know if there was a topic about this before but do you prefer fps or 3rd person? or do you like both? which genres of games do you prefer to have fps or 3rd person?
I love first person games if they are fps's and interactive Action/Adventure RPGs. Everything else should be 3rd person. If the two examples I provided were the opposite, it would be a major turnoff for me because it would be very awkward to navigate the world around you. But for games, say puzzles, were to be 1st person, it would also be hard to navigate, because these sorts of games require more of a view distance scale to be effective. Games like TESIV and FalloutIII provide different viewpoints, but it's almost exclusively better to use first person, since it is almost always better when viewing and experiencing.
I personally like first person. It's easier to see and offers a better visual on you're tatget. In puzzle games then 3rd person because you have a backview like in God of War. Games like Fallout it's better to use first person because it's better in viewing.
Argh I hate first person... I don't like my visual to shake when I run. Also, 1/4 of the screen is covered by the gun and the fire. 3rd person is much better.
First person allows the art of stealth (and overall realism) to take better impact, but third person can also do the same in the "this is what's happening" thing. Situational awareness and peripheral vision is much better in real life than in games. Not to mention the actually realistic sounds. Oh and graphics, try looking at the cloud pixels IRL, just go outside, and lean to check.
And it runs at 250 FPS. :>
But yeah, it's great seeing so much destruction happen around you all at once.
inmy opinion it all depends on the controls and the genre. if your playing a shooter and the y button shoots and the RT button makes you jump etc, it would suck in 1st person.
First person is far more immersive. If I am playing a scary game that has first and third person, I switch to third person and am not scared anymore because I am now longer seeing through someones eyes, but more of a floating camera thingy following them. Its like first person is your actually experiencing everything. Third person you are only watching someone else experience it. For most games that I play atleast, like Elder Scrolls games, Minecraft, and stuff.
Depends. In a game with emphasis on the story, I prefer third person. Sort of makes you more aware of that it is the main character that does all the stuff. However, I love iron sights, and that only works in first person.
I sort of think first person is best for gameplay and control, while third person is more captivating and interesting (dunno how else to put it), or something.
it depends, first person is for seeing through their eyes, well duh..... What im saying is that it doesn't really show your surroundings. But third person brings a whole new aspect to the game.
