Serious;y? You know him from apprentice. You know him from a fued with Rose O'Donnald. Now he wants to run for PRESIDENT? What do you think about that.
Woah! He is the most influeclial person in the world! He can veto laws, executive power, and he is the FACE OF THE COUNTRY!
His only power is to veto or pass laws, and for that, I think his ability should be removed. He shouldn't be able to veto laws. He should only be able to ask the Supreme Court for the final decision over a bill, if both parties cannot compromise.
What executive power?
The US flag is the face of the country. All the President is, is a diplomat.
If he really has declared that he's running (too lazy to fact-check this at the moment) then, depending on the details of his plan for office, I'd support him. I'm pretty liberal, so the only thing that'd stop me from votin' for him, would be if he took some ridiculous uber-conservative path on every issue.
Right now though, above all else, America needs a business man. Trump certainly knows how to exercise power, and, being a business mogul, he knows how to be diplomatic, even if it ends up being "Carry a big stick," a la Teddy Roosevelt. Obama isn't very 'forceful' in any area, and being meek isn't a good philosophy when trying to maintain the country at World's Biggest Superpower status. Sure, he's been calling for compromise lately, but that's really the best he can do now that the 'Pubs outnumber him so much. Trump, I think, has the ability and the experience to act on whatever position he takes, and do so deftly.
Also, Kevin, being the 'face of the country' does usually mean being a diplomat. And in some cases, that can be a very important--and very powerful position.
And if I'm not mistaken, the Senate/House/Congress-in-general CAN override a presidential veto with a 2/3rds majority vote. Every branch of the government was designed (key word, there) with a series of checks and balances in mind; powers that could take effect in the event of one branch becoming corrupt/not upholding their responsibilities competently. But I'd imagine you did know all of this, it just had to be said.
He also has the nifty ability to sign death warrants and runs the military.
Pretty cool, in my opinion.
As for Trump, I'd vote for him. From what I've seen on him, I don't think he'd do that bad. He might even do good, something this country hasn't had in a good long while.

What balance is this? The equilateral triangle wouldn't be equilateral anymore. One would be slightly more obtuse than the others.
And with that, the role of President is a big deal. I wouldn't be scoffing at such elections, if you're so serious about politics.
Od coarse the president has power. That is whhy we are a demorcracy. Other forms of goverment like constitutional Moncarchys (UK, Japan etc) have rulers that are just for decoration. Not the US.
The US isn't a republic. People just think it is. (I'm not joking, it actually isn't.) And I'm running for president. I'm not even American so we'll see how well that works out. Who is this Trump guy?
America is a Republic (select group of people run gov) decided by Democratic means (people elect) with a Federalist set up (nation and divisions of the nation [states] both have powers, but the nation supercedes the divisions) based on Constitutionalist principles. I really wish we still had the Constitutionalist Party.
