Very interesting atmospheric Death-ish Black Metal that you should all check out since it's awesome. Melodeath fans will also find this interesting, since it has it's melodic aspects as well.
I saw Van Canto and all their INGA glory mentioned ( I have a problem alright... leave me alone ) ... but no Sonata Arctica DX... this hurts me... it really does. As for VC's songs... I like Lost Forever, Speed of Light, and Water Fire Heaven Earth a lot.
As for Blind Guardain... I discovered them through Lion Heart and Another Stranger Me. I really liked those songs, so I bought the rest of the "A Twist in the Myth" album... there are a few on there that I like... but the other two are still my favorite. I haven't really delved too deep into them.
Heavenly the french power metal band... not the old British pop band... is great to listen to... just be warned that their music videos for the songs from their album "Carpe Diem" are hilariously more mature than pg 13. I suggest you listen to their album "Virus" .... every song on there... you pretty much can't go wrong w/ any of those songs.
Kamelot a pretty decent band. I like their songs where Roy, the singer, duets w/ Simone Simons of Epica... (The Haunting, House on a Hill, and I think one or two more)... plus a few of their songs like Center of the Universe and Forever are pretty kick A
Simone Simons w/ Epica also has a few really good songs... She's arguably my favorite female vocalist (Tarja Turunnen of old Nightwish (now solo) and Inga Scharf of Van Canto being the two most prominent competitors for the spot.) White Waters, Living a Lie, and Never Enough being a few of my favorites by her.
As for my favorite Sonata Arctica... can I just say "(insert discography)"? They have a song for every season... they have all sorts of songs... and Tony Kakko is my favorite male vocalist... just something about the energy and execution of his self written songs that just makes me \\m/, (>_< .\\m/
have any of you guys heard of the bands and/or songs I've mentiond???
Or actually, it's a traditional Irish drinking song. It is mentioned that Thin Lizzy did a cover of it, but there's not info on Dolly parton doing it, maybe i was wrong
