Well, I was searching to see if this was already made, but the searches didn't show a thread with my idea so here it is. I am making this thread so we can have a typical tavern discussion thread for all things science! Basically, a thread for everything science! Ranging from discussions about laws and theories, scientific debate, breakthroughs, discussion about new scientific breakthroughs, certain scientists/philosophers, and all that good stuff!
So go out there and let out your inner science! ;P
To get us going somewhere I'll start: what do you think the future holds for technology? I think our knowledge will allow us to overcome the obstacles thrown at us in the future, I mean, we have discovered so much and have come so far!

As far as I know their isn't really one. Unless you don't want a truck to drive through your house.

But that tends not to happen anyway, so...

As I said they could be beneficial in earthquake zones.

Oh, sorry. Hmmm. The video confused me a little. How long with levitation stay for?

So long as the superconductors can stay cooled or the magnets remain magnetized.

So would this still work in hotter areas? Or is there still someway to keep them cool.

Well, with a few special modifications, you could use my magnetically powered infinite energy devise to power the cooling system.

We would basically just be refrigerating them.

How would we be able to make this work with our current buildings?

You mean putting existing buildings on levitating supports?

Yes. I mean we could always make new buildings and suspend them. Maybe have earthquake free zones for a city, and research when the earthquake will come so we can be prepared. Is that what you meant?

I guess we would have to put current buildings on pads adapted to the levitating device (not sure if I got what has been discussed about levitation before, didn't read all), and that would be quite laborious and time-consuming?

Well, down here we jack up buildings off of the ground to put in support legs so that they will not as readily be flooded. Granted, this is only done on small one or two story buildings, but a similar idea could be implemented.

That's good. And skyscrapers wouldn't need protection anyways. But we should still probably build the earthquake free zones.

could these protect against floods. Or would a flood wash the houses away?
