It's funny how your almost never born atheist, you become atheist. I personally think the whole religion thing is far fetched. Why cant we just be dead after we die? Why does there HAVE to be an afterlife? Dont get me wrong i respect others decisions, I just don't believe in it, who's with me? I'm going to be some grass fertilizer one day And home to some maggots + worms.
Wow. Good job, you two. I think that is as concise as it gets. MM666, I do believe you're point is not valid anymore. Feel free to start about something else, though. :P
Thank you 314d1, I was too worn out from Snowboarding today to really type, even now I can't feel my hands. (I fall too much and do the equivilant of 200 pushups along with everything else to get back up...)
Tacky, I have been following that thread a little, although it's starting to move past the funny stage and become the slightest bit disturbing...
Anyways, I completely agree with E117, the Bible is a very good way to see how ancient cultures viewed daily life, along with what stories they had...but I do not by any means think that the, well, religious parts, are valid. The bible is composed of many seperate books written by people who heard these stories 2nd-3rd handed in most cases, and there are many more "books" of the bible that were left out in the original compilation of the bible which contradict with the religious aspects of it.
LOL, sorry Kasic. We're still joking around, by the way. I'm not going to go around calling people Sandwich heretics. I'd like to apologize for the dildo part. I didn't come up with it, but it was in the original description and I didn't want to take it away. :P
Hmmm... Considering that life back then was completely different from today's society, your points are invalid. If slavery had not been a major thing back then, I could see your point, but it was, so I shrug off your comments. All of these passages were relevant to the society of 2,000 years ago

So you follow a book of rules that are for people 2,000 years ago? Morality was obviously much different back then, and in the Bible it's wrong, definitely. Look over it, look at any flaw, and go from there. Oh, and think about it, be skeptical.

So...you admit that the Bible is essentially outdated, and yet you follow it? Because as it stands, you DO follow a book that says it's okay to have slaves, **** women, beat your servants, and all other sorts of things you'd go to jail for in today's society. At the very least the Bible needs to be updated. But that would be blasphemy. Which leaves you still following an outdated book that was exaggeration in the first place and myth's and folktales passed down.

I got an analogous video for that lame argument as well.
Religious people almost never bend their views on what they believe. It's pretty unfortunate. No matter what evidence we give them, they'll probably find some other reason for why they are right and we are wrong.

It's their own self deception. They change their scales of what they believe is more important to justify their faith.
