It's funny how your almost never born atheist, you become atheist. I personally think the whole religion thing is far fetched. Why cant we just be dead after we die? Why does there HAVE to be an afterlife? Dont get me wrong i respect others decisions, I just don't believe in it, who's with me? I'm going to be some grass fertilizer one day And home to some maggots + worms.

This reminds me of a story.
There was a man whose city was flooded with water. So he climed a tree to escape the flood. some people in a canoe came to rescue him, but he said
"No, i have faith that God will save me."
The flood gets higher and he climes to the top of the tree. a helicopter comes by to help him but again he says
"No, i have faith that God will save me."
Finally the water rises above his head and he dies. he appears in heaven and sees God. He says to God
"God, why didn't you save me?"
God says, "well i sent the boat and the helicopter, what else did you want me to do?"
it seems to me that people think that God will personally come down from heaven and grant their wishes. Well don't count on it. God gives you opprotunities, so take it.

About as much truth as your assumed perceptions of your infancy no?

What perceptions?

God gives you opprotunities,

How do you know that?

No people do. Your story was silly, because it is on the basis that people are influenced directly by God. It was human ingenuity and / or stubborness to save people that made that story possible. You know, before he died and all.

Perceptions that your infancy was not influenced in any way that would lead you to a certain belief.

The same goes for other faiths, even Atheism.

How so? Atheism claims nothing, it's simply the lack of a belief. I don't know how many times I have to say this, Atheism isn't a religion or group of people who get together every week, it's just saying that you lack a belief.

No one has the answers.

This is fairly close to what Atheists think, although it's probably more agnostic than anything.

Perhaps it's someones fear that they are not in direct control which makes them believe this.

I'm on your side, but your argument only covers what I'd imagine is a logical (or possibly only a sane) mind. Needless to say, there are a few ideas out there which borderline insanity and even take that to its core beliefs.

No one has the answers. That is the truth some people deny and wont accept.

It may not be the truth. I don't believe in religion any more than you, but if you mean any HUMAN on earth doesn't know the answers I'm sorry I misunderstood, otherwise you don't, nor me, know if anyone does know the answer.

Probably not, surely, but in the end it isn't the solidified truth.

Yes that would be agnosticism (dealing with lack of knowledge) This doesn't speak of belief or lack there of.

Well, it's not really my perception. It's a default stance.
Example:

You see a dead person in the park. Around you there are no smashed trees or any damage. There is no trace of injury on the dead men. Then you declare:

"This person probably wasn't hit by a car."

There is no evidence the victim was hit by a car, so why even consider he was hit by a car? It could be possible, but there is no reason to think it is.
If something has no evidence, then why should it be considered?

Well, Avorne wants to spit in the face of religious people, Mr. Walker just posted in Christianity FTW that religion is detrimental to our species, and E compared it to hair dye. So, yeah.

Compared to what some religious people do that is nothing. Not saying that small attacks to religion are good, but they are kind of asked for.

I'm not saying religions don't deserve criticism, simply that to say they suffer none is ignorant.

E, yeah I know, just a little joke. Sorry if my humor isn't that rollicking ^_^

How do you know that it's not? In fact, i'm fairly sure you could find some correlating evidence against it, but that's not definite. We've never seen a place that has had no religious influence, so it's really quite hard to say. Based on this though...People will argue over any disagreement, removing religion, a BIG thing to argue about, would for sure take away that trunk of problems that it causes.

E compared it to hair dye. So, yeah.

He was making a relation, that was not offensive in any way.
