Hello everyone. What I am about to show you is what the meat industry doesn't want you to see. I stumbled upon this video yesterday, and I was shocked by its contents. I am surprised that this is going on today. Hopefully, this will come to you as a revelation. I am going to warn you, this video is very bloody and disturbing.
As you can see, this slaughter is going on every day in self-proclaimed "civilized" countries. This has definitely convinced me to try to stop consuming dairy and eggs.
Plus, morality wasn't exactly mentioned on Hitlers list, he was an incredibly psychological dictator, surely, but morality definitely does not show because it's obvious to anyone that what he done was wrong.
I was mentioning Hitler because he picked a certain group as the superior so I was saying that how he (the begginer of topic) was doing just that with the human race when it isn't true that only we have morality and self-awarness. Btw: the video looked interesting but the fact that i saw it was 49 mins long made me relize I couldn't watch it all the way through
Hmm, with self-awareness, we are able to debate and reason, correct? I don't see any other animals capable of logical reason or a language.
Ever seen a animal eat something that is rotten? The animals debate wether it is still good enough to eat or let it sit there while the animal needs food. And they have their own launguage, even though you can't understand it dosen't mean it's not there. Or how bout then animals in a fight? One has to reason at one point that it needs to back back or die.

Perhaps there is an instinct that tells an animal not to consume food if it tastes poorly.

Alright, which animals would that be? To have a language, there have to be words and a syntax. Animals can produce specific noises, but they do not link them together to sentences to form complex meanings. I doubt we will ever hear "So long, and thanks for all the fish."

That is the fight or flight response, an instinct.

haha I always like douglas adams. I think you are not giving animals enough credit but how do you think pack animals hunt together in a effective way? They have to tell eachother what to do, it's not a instinct that tells them to run a certain way, it's them learning from the other animals. And maybe they do but agian you can't understand it so you have no idea. Think about if a alein came to our planet and we started jibbering away. All the alien would get from that is that we are frightened. Or how bout if even better that alien used only telekenisus? Then it would think that we just like making noise if we think anything is in our way.
Listen, what they do is there business, they bring home the ba... money in the family working there, and the higher-ups? you think they care? Supply and Demand, though the way the male chicks die is cruel, the term "ecking order" would come into play, Roosters... they aren't very cooperative with one another and the weak would most likely be killed by other roosters, it would be a bloody mess with risk of infections and disease spreading thoughout the facilities, and eventually, to you.
The way the Pigs are killed are deplorable, but the cost of anesthesia or anything to er... for lack of a better word... "humanily" kill the pigs, they only do what seems quicker, even if it takes a toll on those who see it. But what about the cost of raising enough pigs, chicks, and other animals the ye olde school way? well... it wouldn't be enough to sustain america, maybe if they country had a bit more towards funds we could fix this, but this treatment won't stop, so get over it and enjoy some bacon.
I may not be able to kill animals and definitely do not like the treatment given in those videos, but these guys have to do that to sustain the needs of america...
and if you want a solution you could try bring the demand for organic foods up by convincing people, everyone gets thier bacon, and you help extend the life of those at the facility.
...But if your all talk, and no action, never mind, it's easy to complain, but if you're passionate about this, do something.
Less big soul-less corporations = better quality/ more humanity.
Exactly. It was the loss of small family-owned farms and such, and the introduction of massive corporations that cause stuff like this. Corporations of that size only care about money, and will drop all morals.

[quote]I've seen this, and food inc.. frakkin gross. but in all honesty, I really don't care. I'm still going to eat meat, chicken, fish, etc. The point of the post wasn't to get you to change your diet, it was to make yourself better aware of what is going on in these companies. Show some humanity for god's sake. What makes us better than animals is that we DON'T like seeing that, most other animals would just be happy to see a predator die, but as humans, this is horrible.

we ARE animals humans are animals themselves we aren't from some other distant world
My history teacher told me this the other day... If an animal isn't killed humanely, or killed quickly, adrenaline will rush through its body, making its muscles and body stiffer. Which then makes the meat less healthier... Kosher wins?
