I grew up atheist for 16 years. I had always kept an open mind towards religion, but never really felt a need to believe in it. My sister started going to a Wednesday night children's program at a church. Eventually, I was dragged into a Christmas Eve service. Scoffing, I reluctantly went, assuming that this was going to be a load of crap, but when I went, I felt something. Something that I've never felt before. I felt a sense of empowerment and a sense of calling. Jesus called upon my soul, just like he did with his disciples. he wanted me to follow him. Now, my life is being lived for Christ. He died on the cross for my sins, and the sins of everyone who believes in him. He was beaten, brutalized, struck with a whip 39 times, made to carry a cross up to the stage of his death. This I believe to be true, and I can never repay him for what he has done.
I still have my struggles with Christianity, but I've found this bit of information most useful. Religion is not comprehensible in the human mind, because we cannot comprehend the idea of a perfect and supreme being, a God, but we can believe it in our heart, and that's the idea of faith. Faith is, even though everything rides against me believing in Jesus, I still believe in him because I know that it's true in my heart. I invite my fellow Brothers and sisters of the LORD to talk about how Jesus has helped you in your life. No atheists and no insults please

Hmm... I guess all those discoveries of lost relics were untrue then. I suppose we should tell the archeoligests that their attempts to find the relics using the bible was all for not.

Links please. What artifacts have been found using the Bible? Artifacts that were in the Bible might have been found, but does that mean that the Bible alone was used to find them? Or were there outside references involved? So yes, links.

I don't know of any ancient relic found. Care to enlighten me? (I'm serious here, so don't get pissy ok?)

Aside from what other people have been saying about the lack of proof that these have been found, proving one thing doesn't prove the whole thing. For example, let's say an essay makes three points (let's name them statement A, statement B, and statement C). Now it is unanimously accepted that statement A is true, but this does not mean statements B and C are true. Just because one part of the bible may or may not be true, doesn't mean every part of it is.

Biblical relics that aren't real? Unheard of...

James Randi Speaks: Questioning the Bible
Fake Noah's Ark found on Mt. Ararat
Phony biblical relics spark controversy

"Q: Faked religious objects go back a long way, don't they? Isn't it kind of an old tradition?

A: Absolutely, this goes back to the earliest roots of Christianity and probably earlier. People in the Middle Ages traveled places to see relics. It's just more high-tech now with global media coverage.

Urban legends, pious frauds, forgeries,
neat stories, relics, etc., mostly Christian

Okay I'm a bit late on commenting on it but you can feel this in a good rock concert where there's something in the air. What it is in fact is a lot of people are happy and are experiencing something that feels good. I experienced it one time at a concert. It's also like when you meet a girl and both feel good about each other.

Also, I felt it again when I first saw Star Wars at the cinema. I'm still not worshiping Darth Vader.

Considering hoaxes clearly do occur it does put into question the validity of any such finds. However since you provide no examples of such finds i really can't say much.

People will try and fake anything, but just because they do, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.Take evolution. Some idiot(not even an evolutionist probobly) Will grap a rock and say it's a billion years old when it's not that doesn't mean their aren't fossils that are that old. Although I doubt we've found any.(then again I don't know )However I'm a Christian and I believe in god completely by faith.(please don't post 50 comments on how that's so stupid cause I'm not trying to start an argument)

I was thinking. How much faith do we christians have in God? How devoted are we to him? I keep seeing people who claim they are christian, but they don't act like one. Do these christians even care?

What do Christians act like? You would have to admit some of the most devoted Christians ever where in the crusades, its hard to state that there is an overlying theme.

People will try and fake anything, but just because they do, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist

So there are actually dragons?

....Duh? The pyramids where not used to store food. The red sea was never parted. The Jews didn't build the pyramid. Really everything in the Bible about Egypt (And pretty much everything else) is wrong...

Your idea of "Christian" may very well differ from theirs. The only requirement to be considered a Christian is to have the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God.

For example, let's say that they believe God created everything, but did it through natural means and not in some instant thing. They also believe that God does not want them to prostrate themselves before him every Sunday and instead should live happy, full lives. You may not consider them Christian if they don't believe the literal interpretation of the Bible, and don't go to church, but they very well may.

That doesn't sound like a christian at all. A person that believes in Gid , but doesn't believe in the bible or follow it can't possibly be called christian.

Of course the Great Gid controls you, and you listen to the Bible fully? When you hear about kids disobeying their parents, you immediately stone them? You believe in necromancers and witches? You don't shave a certain part of your face and head? You don't wear cloths with multiple fabrics? You probably haven't even read the Bible. How can you say that you are more Christian than the rest?
