Those who die in a state other then Islam are going to Hell.
102. O you who believe! Fear Allâh (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islâm (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allâh.
. He it is Who has created you from clay, and then has decreed a stated term (for you to die). And there is with Him another determined term (for you to be resurrected), yet you doubt (in the Resurrection).
That "Fear him as he should be feared and die in submission" part sounds like a hell to me. Really, I'd find it much easier to worship him if he was at least a little bit friendly. Maybe he could tell jokes. "*Knock knock* Who's there? God. God who? God, dammit!"
Ach, in Christianity at least you get some credit for being nice...
Technically not (well, aside from the fact that there most likely is no afterlife). There are many things, according to the Bible, which one must do to enter heaven, and there isn't anything that says you get brownie points for being a nice guy.

I'm not quite keen on the idea of an afterlife, especially in religious terms.
The whole idea of my soul whisking up to heaven, going on trial and being unceremoniously plunked down in a place that either cooks my ectoplasmic brains in a lake of fire and brimstone for all eternity, or having to attend some giant, eternal pep rally for the Big Guy just doesn't settle with me.
I really hope that when it's time, the lights just go off.
