I have a question and it would be nice If somebody could answer it.

How is it possible that somebody believes in God although there doesn't exist any proof or at least an evidence for Gods existance besides some old books?

In my opinion God's an explanation for everything unknown.

Omnipotence still requires that the being participate within the realm of reality.

Merriam-Webster defines omnipotence as:

1
: the quality or state of being omnipotent
2
: an agency or force of unlimited power

That second one would include being outside of reality.

Some stuff on the stone paradox

If you insist on the omnipotence is limited by reality thing, how has God(of any incarnation from any holy book) done anything in said book?

Reality, as in anything that does not end in a contradiction.

Well, there are no old books saying God isn't real.

There's no evidence God does not exist either.

And no evidence that unicorns and faries don't exist. However, if you believe in those you are a kid or a loony and if you believe in a god you are just religious.

If you are nearly able to imagine what infinity means, then you are also understanding, that in reality no omniscient or omnipotent creature is possible.

If we take that God's omnipotence only extends to what is physically possible then we can actually debunk the claim of God being a creator God, as it would violate the laws of physics to do so. God would then only be able to rearrange the preexisting energy into other forms. Something we can we can explain without God. So if such a God does exist he then becomes superfluous.

We can also compare the concept of God to Harold Camping's predictions. The mind set works in pretty much the same way. Instead of accepting being wrong about the whole thing, he keeps holding on to the failed idea. He claimed it was going to be in 94 it failed so the date got moved, it failed again, so it changed from something physical to something spiritual and beyond our perception with the physical evidence sometime in the future.

God was once some being just above the firmament. We got up there and not only was there no firmament but no God. So Instead of just accepting being wrong about the whole thing God was moved to someplace out in space. We look deep into space and again find no God, with this idea again failing God's existence was changed to a spiritual one beyond our perception where we will get evidence sometime in the future.

Notice the similarities in the two processes? Yet another theist will say Harold is full of it, for doing something they themselves have been doing as well.

A: Big Bang, Evolution, Abiogenesis.

If you want to go before the big bang, we don't know.

Wrong.

Wrong.

There was no said meteor that brought life at all.

Q Ok how did the planet get there?
A: A giant piece of rock

Planets don't just launch meteors...

Q: so now what do you think?
A:

That you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Why not use what has you believing instead of some other blatantly inaccurate statements?

Q: How were we created?
A Oh by evolution. Duh!

The question itself is a fallacy as we are so much created as forming naturally. The answer is incorrect, life from non life is abiogenesis. Evolution is the changes life has gone through since.

Q: Oh well then where did that hing we evolved from come from?
A: A Meator crashing in Earth. Duh!

Small single celled life being carried to Earth this way has been proposed, but given the conditions on Earth we had all the recipe for life to form right here on it's own. What would have more likely have been transferred here through such a means are amino acids which would have given life forming here an extra boost, as they are key to the formation of life. Though they could form on their own without the seeding.

Q Well Smarty Pants how was the meteaot created?
A Uh well from it branching off another planet!

The same way the planets formed, though they didn't gather together enough material. It's possible some of the are broken up proto-planets or moons that didn't survive the formation of our solar system.

Q Ok how did the planet get there?
A: A giant piece of rock

Actually small tiny pieces of fine dust... lots of it. We actually have a pretty good understanding of how our solar system formed.

Q WHERE DID THAT COME FROM!
A:uuh, uhh,uhhhhh......

Stars that went supernova.

Q: so now what do you think?

A: You need to shut your mouth, open a book on cosmology, chemistry and biological evolution and "start thinking, instead of running on automatic".
