People often complain about how their prayers always go unanswered, and I was just wondering what the AG community thought about this topic. I was also interested in where your opinions where on asking God for something.
An adult-child analogy is poor, because 314d1 is right; seven million children would overpower an adult, because the adult is not omnipotent or omniscient.
God has infinite power, I'm sure he can multi-task pretty well. If he didn't care about us and just left, he wouldn't love us, would he?
That doesn't prove anything. If he just left us, he wouldn't love us, no, but since it hasn't been proven that he loves us, and the Bible gives many examples of the opposite, that doesn't really mean that he didn't leave us.
youre looking at it in another way. imagine the adult being invincible and powerful
So he would just go "I KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU!!!1!!" and run the kids in a ruthless despotism, killing people even though there are plenty of other ways he could dispose of them that are not harmful? This man would be worse than Hitler.
If this guy 1. Experiments on us though we are supposedly his children 2. Doesn't help us in need. 3. Sends us to Hell for minor infractions 4. Gives us no say.
Before someone misinterprets the comment, read it carefully.
God isn't like a single man vs. billions of his children! He has the power to mold anything anyway he wants! God respects us and our privacy and choices... I know that contradicts me saying we are his test subjects but it isn't easy to explain.
