Well, I've been thinking, "Americans have a pretty easy way of spelling things" (don't quote me on that). And then I go look at a bunch of british vids on youtube and see that they use o and u to make the or sound. So wats the deal?

It's part of their language. It just is. I don't see why it's confusing to you. Besides, British English has been around for longer than American English, so the real question would be, why don't you have it?

Hrrrmm... I think its cause us Americans are lazy and wanted to make it shorter. But thats just my interpretation.

Actually, it is simply lingual evolution. America was birthed from England, so we formed our own version of English. It happens through all of history. Compare modern English to Old English. Major difference, but it's still English.

Yes, language evolves. I'm certain if we traveled several generations into the future we'd sound old-timey or even worse, backwards.

It's also interesting to note that handwriting has significantly changed over the eras.

Pants and friend are still words, mate.

The languages aren't too different with the exception of a few words.
I normally leave out the 'u' because it's what I'm used to do doing from typing this way online for several years but when in school or writing papers for school I add in the 'u'.

I know, just making a dumb joke.

Regardless, they are still two languages.

Don't make yourself look asinine, please.

Languages and dialects are different. Is AAVE a completely different language? No.

Just thought I'd point out that he is, in fact, American.

I probably should have checked out his profile, his posts are pretty unclear and it sounded like he was arguing from a british perspective.

Because you are, but that's not really important.

How do we know YOU'RE not misspelling things?

Fixed the Amerrorcan mistake.

Yes, it was our language first, but we're letting you use it, and we don't want to have to take it back. So don't question it and don't complain about it!
