It seems to me that, during my short time here on the forums, the majority of the AG Community is Atheist. Is this just me, or is there truth to my thoughts?
Buddhists believe there are gods. Just that they can't help you in any way so they're pointless to pray to and worship.
In general no they don't. Some do regard Buddha as a god, but this is a minority.
"In Buddhist literature, the belief in a creator god (issara-nimmana-vada) is frequently mentioned and rejected, along with other causes wrongly adduced to explain the origin of the world; as, for instance, world-soul, time, nature, etc. God-belief, however, is placed in the same category as those morally destructive wrong views which deny the kammic results of action, assume a fortuitous origin of man and nature, or teach absolute determinism. These views are said to be altogether pernicious, having definite bad results due to their effect on ethical conduct." -Buddhism and the God-idea by Nyanaponika Thera
Though he's not revered as a God, his story is clearly what you could call 'Biblical' -- unless modern science proves otherwise that a man can run 30 days without food or water sitting under a tree.

Some guy fasted for a thirty days. And yes, things get exaggerated. There are two branches of Buddhism. One branch that states that Buddha is a god, and another that states that Buddha isn't, and is just a teacher to be revered.
im pretty sure that buddha himself taught he wasnt agod and that gods dont exist, that seems like a funny thing for agod to do, im pretty sure the latter branch is the main one
I thought Buddhism just teaches to be in harmony with everyone and everything else. I quite like it being atheist myself. what I don't like is when people of certain religions think if you don't believe what the do you should be killed. that just crazy.
